Abstract

The invention provides human molecules associated with cell proliferation (MACP) and polynucleotides which identify and encode MACP. The invention also provides expression vectors, host cells, antibodies, agonists, and antagonists. The invention also provides methods for diagnosing, treating, or preventing disorders associated with expression of MACP.

         22 . A substantially purified polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2. 
     
     
         23 . A substantially purified polypeptide variant of SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein the variant differs from SEQ ID NO: 2 at one or more amino acids selected from the group consisting of: T319, S105, T215, S362, Y377, N88, and N245. 
     
     
         24 . A substantially purified polypeptide fragment of SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein the fragment is selected from the group consisting of: amino acids G285-S292, C198-C209, C230-C241, C262-C273, C294-C305, C326-C337, and a combination thereof. 
     
     
         25 . A substantially purified polypeptide variant having at least 95% identity to SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein the variant differs from SEQ ID NO: 2 at one or more amino acids selected from the group consisting of: T319, S105, T215, S362, Y377, N88, N245, G285-S292, C198-C209, C230-C241, C262-C273, C294-C305, and C326-C337.

         29 . A substantially purified polypeptide consisting of an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2. 
     
     
         30 . A method for producing a polypeptide comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 and fragments thereof, the method comprising the steps of:
 a) culturing a host cell containing an expression vector containing at least a fragment of a polynucleotide encoding the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2 under conditions suitable for the expression of the polypeptide; and   b) recovering the polypeptide from the host cell culture.   
     
     
         31 . A purified antibody which specifically binds to the polypeptide of  claim 22 . 
     
     
         32 . A purified antibody which specifically binds to the polypeptide fragment of  claim 24 . 
     
     
         33 . An isolated polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence having at least about 95% sequence identity to an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2, wherein the polypeptide is associated with cell proliferation.
