Product display grid system and grid wall hanging bracket used therewith
Abstract
A grid wall display system and grid wall brackets for use therein, the grid wall brackets configured to removably secure to adjacent vertical supports and to securely retain a grid wall panel therebetween, without requiring permanent attachment or hardware to secure the grid wall panel to the bracket or the bracket to the vertical supports. The grid bracket includes a first rearwardly extending attachment tab including an upward projection and a downward projection, each projection designed to allow the bracket to fit within or clear the slots of the slotted vertical support when pivoted or tipped at an angle with respect to the position of the vertical support, but also to prevent removal or slippage of the bracket when the grid wall itself is installed or repositioned thereon.
Claims

2 . The product display system of claim 1 , wherein the rearwardly extending attachment portion of the first bracket comprises a tab dimensioned to clear the opening of one of the slots of the first vertical support member when the first bracket is pivoted away from the first vertical support member at an angle with respect thereto, the tab having upward and downward projections preventing removal of the first bracket from the one slot of the first vertical support member when the first bracket arranged substantially parallel to the first vertical support member.
3 . The product display system of claim 2 , wherein the rearwardly extending attachment portion of the first bracket further comprises a stabilization bar substantially vertically aligned with and located below the tab, the stabilization bar configured to extend through another one of the plurality of vertically spaced apart slots of the first vertical support member when the first bracket arranged substantially parallel to the first vertical support member.
4 . The product display system of claim 1 , wherein the rearwardly extending attachment portion of the second bracket comprises a tab dimensioned to clear the opening of one of the slots of the second vertical support member when the second bracket is pivoted away from the second vertical support member at an angle with respect thereto, the tab having upward and downward projections preventing removal of the second bracket from the one slot of the second vertical support member when the second bracket arranged substantially parallel to the second vertical support member.
5 . The product display system of claim 4 , wherein the rearwardly extending attachment portion of the second bracket further comprises a stabilization bar substantially vertically aligned with and located below the tab, the stabilization bar configured to extend through another one of the plurality of vertically spaced apart slots of the second vertical support member when the second bracket arranged substantially parallel to the second vertical support member.
6 . The product display system of claim 1 , wherein the arms of the first and second brackets are U-shaped, with each arm including a recess for slidably receiving at least one of the first and second ends of the horizontal members, respectively.
7 . The product display system of claim 1 , further comprising a third slotted vertical support member positioned between the first and second vertical support members and configured similarly to the first and second vertical support members and a third bracket including:
a rearwardly extending tab secured to a slot of the third vertical support member, the tab dimensioned to clear the opening of the slot of the third vertical support member when the second bracket is pivoted away from the second vertical support member at an angle with respect thereto and dimensioned to prevent removal of the third bracket from the slot of the third vertical support member when the third bracket arranged substantially parallel to the second vertical support member; a stabilization bar substantially vertically aligned with and located below the tab, the stabilization bar configured to extend through another slot of the third slotted vertical support member when the third bracket arranged substantially parallel to the third vertical support member; and a plurality of forwardly extending arms, each arm including a recess for slidably receiving a middle portion of at least one of the horizontal members of the grid panel.
8 . A product display grid system comprising:
first and second parallel vertical columns, each column having a surface with a plurality of spaced apart apertures formed therein; a first bracket having a rearwardly extend tab removably engaged to one of the apertures the first vertical column, wherein the tab clears the one aperture only when the bracket is pivoted to an angle away from the second vertical support column, the first bracket also having a stabilization bar substantially vertically aligned with and located below the tab, the bar extending through another one of the apertures the first vertical column, the first bracket also having a plurality of forwardly extending U-shaped arms, each arm including an open recess formed therein; a second bracket, having a rearwardly extend tab removably engaged to one of the apertures the second vertical column, wherein the tab clears the one aperture only when the second bracket is pivoted to an angle away from the second vertical support column, the first bracket also having and a stabilization bar substantially vertically aligned with and located below the tab, the bar extending through another one of the apertures the second vertical column, the second bracket also having a plurality of forwardly extending U-shaped arms, each arm including an open recess formed therein; and a product grid panel including a plurality of spaced horizontal members, at least one of the horizontal members of the product grid panel resting within horizontally aligned open recesses of the first and the second brackets.
9 . The product display system of claim 8 , wherein each of the first and the second brackets comprises a channel member including a rear web portion with first and second ends and forwardly ending flanges extending from each end thereof, wherein each flange of the channel member includes vertically aligned, spaced apart U-shaped arms.
10 . The product display system of claim 9 , wherein each flange of the channel member includes three vertically aligned, spaced apart U-shaped arms.
11 . The product display system of claim 8 , wherein the second bracket is constructed as a mirror image of the first bracket.
12 . A grid wall bracket for use in removably mounting a product display grid wall including a plurality of spaced horizontal members to slotted vertical support members, the bracket comprising:
a rear attachment portion including an upper tab dimensioned to be inserted into a slot of a vertical support member when the bracket is positioned at an angle with respect to the vertical support member, the tab including upper and lower projections dimensioned to prevent removal of the tab from the slot when the bracket is arranged substantially parallel to the vertical support member, the rear attachment portion also including a stabilization bar substantially vertically aligned with and located below the tab, the bar sized to extend through another one of the slots of the vertical support member when the bracket is arranged substantially parallel to the vertical support member; and a plurality of forwardly extending arms, each arm including an open recess formed therein configured to receive at least one of the horizontal members of the grid wall.
