Golf club head with alignment system

Abstract

A golf club head is disclosed. The golf club head includes a first body member and a second body member. The first body member includes a strike face and a top portion. The second body member is coupled to the first body member and extends away from the first body member in a direction opposite the strike face. At least a top portion of the second body member is camouflaged. A preferred method of camouflage is color differentiation, wherein the second body member is darker than the first body member. Specific color values and club head geometries are also disclosed and claimed. The club head may include a body member and a weight member such as a bar that extends rearward from the body member. A cover may be included to camouflage the weight member. A separate core member and high visibility sight lines may also be provided. The club head may include a color alignment system wherein a top portion of the second body member comprises a transparent colored panel, and a bottom portion of the second body member comprises another transparent colored panel. The viewing of a third combination color to the golfer at address indicates proper alignment of the club head.

1 . A golf club head, comprising:
 a face member including a strike face and a top line, and having an extension portion extending rearward from a back surface of the face member opposite said strike face;   wherein said extension portion includes a system comprising at least two colored bodies wherein said bodies cooperatively form a colored combination of said colored bodies viewable to a user when the club head is properly aligned in the address position.   
     
     
         2 . The golf club head of  claim 1 , wherein said bodies are transparent. 
     
     
         3 . The golf club head of  claim 1 , wherein said bodies are different colors. 
     
     
         4 . The golf club head of  claim 3 , wherein the lower colored body of said bodies is visible from above to the user within the upper colored body. 
     
     
         5 . The golf club head of  claim 4 , wherein said bodies are visible to the user to substantially overlap when the club head is properly aligned in the address position. 
     
     
         6 . The golf club head of  claim 5 , wherein the lower colored body of said bodies is visible entirely within the upper colored body to the user when the club head is properly aligned in the address position. 
     
     
         7 . The golf club head of  claim 6 , wherein said bodies extend rearward from said back surface in parallel orientation to each other. 
     
     
         8 . The golf club head of  claim 7 , wherein said bodies are spaced vertically in parallel orientation. 
     
     
         9 . The golf club head of  claim 8 , wherein said bodies are spaced in parallel orientation in a range from approximately 1 cm to approximately 10 cm. 
     
     
         10 . The golf club head of  claim 8 , wherein said bodies are substantially perpendicular to said strike face. 
     
     
         11 . The golf club head of  claim 10 , further wherein a long axis of each of said bodies is substantially perpendicular to said strike face. 
     
     
         12 . The golf club head of  claim 11 , further wherein a major axis of each of said bodies perpendicular to said strike face is longer than a minor axis of each of said bodies parallel to said strike face. 
     
     
         13 . The golf club head of  claim 8 , wherein one of said bodies is located on a top surface of said extension portion. 
     
     
         14 . The golf club head of  claim 13 , wherein one of said bodies is located below another of said bodies. 
     
     
         15 . The golf club head of  claim 14 , wherein one of said bodies is located on a lower surface of said extension portion. 
     
     
         16 . The golf club head of  claim 8 , wherein one of said bodies comprises a color selected from the group comprising red, blue, and yellow. 
     
     
         17 . The golf club head of  claim 8 , wherein another of said bodies comprises a color selected from the group comprising red, blue and yellow. 
     
     
         18 . The golf club head of  claim 1 , wherein said club head comprises a high visibility sight line wherein said sight line is located on a club head member. 
     
     
         19 . The golf club head of  claim 18 , wherein said sight line passes over a center of gravity of said club head. 
     
     
         20 . The golf club head of  claim 18 , wherein said sight line is substantially perpendicular to said strike face. 
     
     
         21 . The golf club head of  claim 1 , wherein said club head comprises a weight member. 
     
     
         22 . The golf club head of  claim 21 , wherein said weight member includes a slot into which at least one weight is positioned. 
     
     
         23 . The golf club head of  claim 21 , wherein said weight member is connected to said face member. 
     
     
         24 . The golf club head of  claim 21 , wherein said weight member extends rearward from said face member.
