Decorative shaping hair accessory

Abstract

A hair accessory which allows a user to simultaneously shape and style the user's hair. The hair accessory includes a base, at least one shaping member, and at least one decorative feature. The hair accessory allows for the base, a functional portion of the hair accessory, to be hidden for view while the its decorative features are displayed. The shaping members may be used to shape and place the user's hair into one of a variety of styles, thus reducing the need for multiple hair accessories. The user may position the shaping members in the hair to achieve a desired hair style and the shaping members may include decorative features. The hair accessory may optionally include a band as a base for encircling a portion of the user's hair. Multiple decorative features of varying lengths may be used and the hair accessory may optionally be utilized to shape or contain a pony tail.

1 . A hair accessory, comprising:
 a base for attaching the hair accessory to a user's hair,   a first shaping member for shaping the user's hair, said first shaping member being attached to the base; and   a first decorative feature attached to the first shaping member.   
   
   
       2 . The hair accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the base comprises an upper and lower clamp. 
   
   
       3 . The hair accessory of  claim 2 , wherein the upper and lower clamp further comprise a releasable locking mechanism. 
   
   
       4 . The hair accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the first shaping member comprises a semi-rigid material. 
   
   
       5 . The hair accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the first decorative feature comprises a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. 
   
   
       6 . The hair accessory of  claim 1 , wherein the first shaping member may be shaped so that the hair accessory assumes one of a plurality of shapes. 
   
   
       7 . A hair accessory, comprising:
 a base for banding, circling, or retaining a user's hair; and   a first shaping member for shaping the user's hair, said first shaping member being attached to the base.   
   
   
       8 . The hair accessory of  claim 7 , wherein the first shaping member comprises a first decorative member. 
   
   
       9 . The hair accessory of  claim 8 , wherein the first decorative member further comprises a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. 
   
   
       10 . The hair accessory of  claim 7 , wherein the base comprises an elastic band. 
   
   
       11 . The hair accessory of  claim 10 , wherein the elastic band comprises a fabric coating. 
   
   
       12 . The hair accessory of  claim 7 , wherein the first shaping member comprises a semi-rigid material. 
   
   
       13 . The hair accessory of  claim 7 , wherein the first shaping member comprises one of a plurality of lengths. 
   
   
       14 . The hair accessory of  claim 10 , wherein the first shaping member comprises a first decorative member. 
   
   
       15 . The hair accessory of  claim 14 , wherein the first decorative member may be a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. 
   
   
       16 . The hair accessory of  claim 12 , wherein the first shaping member comprises a first decorative member. 
   
   
       17 . The hair accessory of  claim 16 , wherein the first decorative member may be a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. 
   
   
       18 . The hair accessory of  claim 13 , wherein the first shaping member comprises a first decorative member. 
   
   
       19 . The hair accessory of  claim 18 , wherein the first decorative member may be a variety of shapes, sizes, and colors. 
   
   
       20 . The hair accessory of  claim 7 , wherein the first shaping member may be shaped so that the hair accessory assumes one of a plurality of shapes.
