Abstract

A portable personal exercise device that can be carried with the user as he or she engages in various daily duties such as waiting in line and walking. In the preferred embodiment, the exercise device also serves as a walking stick. The preferred embodiment teaches two spring loaded tubes joined to form a combination exercise rod and walking stick typically four feet or longer in length.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
. A portable personal exercise device comprising:
a first elongated hollow cylindrical tube having a first and a second end, a second elongated cylindrical tube having a first end and a second end, the second tube has a diameter sufficiently small to allow the first end of the second tube to be inserted into the second end of the first tube, a spring limiter, the spring limiter is immovably secured inside the first tube, a spring mechanism having a first end and a second end, the spring mechanism is positioned inside the first tube, the first end of the spring mechanism is adjacent to the spring limiter, a solid spacer, the solid spacer is positioned inside the first tube adjacent to the second end of the spring mechanism, the second tube is positioned within the first tube, the first end of the second tube is positioned adjacent to the solid spacer, wherein the linear length of the portable personal exercise device measured from the first end of the first tube to the second end of the second tube is at least 48 inches, wherein, when the first tube is urged toward the second tube, the sprint limiter opposes the first end of the spring mechanism, the solid spacer opposes the second end of the spring mechanism and the spring mechanism compresses.

. The system of claim 1 further including a hand grip.

. The system of claim 2 further includes a foot piece.

. The system of claim 3 wherein the solid spacer servers as a cap to the first end of the second tube.

. The system of claim 4 wherein the exercise device is used as a walking stick.

. The system of claim 5 further including a spring mechanism disabling means to allow the device to function as a stiff walking stick.

. The system of claim 3 wherein the exercise device is used as a walking stick.

. The system of claim 7 further including a spring mechanism disabling means to allow the device to function as a stiff walking stick.

. The system of claim 2 wherein the solid spacer servers as a cap to the first end of the second tube.

. The system of claim 9 wherein the exercise device is used as a walking stick.

. The system of claim 10 further including a spring mechanism disabling means to allow the device to function as a stiff walking stick.

. The system of claim 2 wherein the exercise device is used as a walking stick.

. The system of claim 12 further including a spring mechanism disabling means to allow the device to function as a stiff walking stick.

. The system of claim 1 further includes a foot piece.

. The system of claim 14 wherein the solid spacer servers as a cap to the first end of the second tube.

. The system of claim 15 wherein the exercise device is used as a walking stick.

. The system of claim 16 further including a spring mechanism disabling means to allow the device to function as a stiff walking stick.

. The system of claim 14 wherein the exercise device is used as a walking stick.

. The system of claim 18 further including a spring mechanism disabling means to allow the device to function as a stiff walking stick.

. The system of claim 1 wherein the solid spacer servers as a cap to the first end of the second tube.
