Abstract

A cardboard sidewall has a volume of greater than or equal to one and half gallons. A cardboard bottom includes a polyethylene coating on an inside of the bottom. An inside of the sidewall also includes a polyethylene coating. The bottom is heat sealed onto a bottom portion of the sidewall to form a seal. Furthermore, in one embodiment, a plastic ring is affixed to an inside of a top portion of the sidewall.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container, comprising:
a cardboard cylindrical sidewall having a volume of greater than or equal to one and a half gallons, and wherein the sidewall has a top portion and a bottom portion; a cardboard bottom sealed to the bottom portion of the sidewall, wherein the bottom is folded on an inside portion of the bottom portion of the sidewall; and a plastic ring affixed to the top portion of the sidewall, wherein the plastic ring is affixed by a force exerted by one side of the plastic ring against an inside portion of the top portion of the sidewall.

2 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 1 , wherein the cardboard bottom is sealed to the bottom portion of the sidewall via a curl process.

3 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 1 , wherein the bottom has a circumference that is greater than a circumference associated with the bottom portion of the sidewall.

4 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 3 , wherein excess circumference associated with the bottom does not come in contact with an outside portion of the bottom portion of the sidewall.

5 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 1 , wherein the plastic ring does not extend to an outside portion of the top portion of the sidewall.

6 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 1 , further comprising a lid adapted to be placed over and removed from the top portion of sidewall.

7 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 1 , wherein the lid is one of: a cardboard lid, a plastic lid, and a re-sealable plastic wrap.

8 . A commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container, comprising:
a cardboard sidewall forming a volume greater than or equal to one and half gallons, the sidewall having an inside adapted to house frozen product and an outside, and wherein the sidewall includes a top portion and a bottom portion; a cardboard bottom sealed the sidewall and along an inside portion of the bottom portion of the sidewall; and a plastic ring affixed to the top portion of the sidewall along an inside portion of the top portion of the sidewall.

9 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 8 further comprising, a cardboard or plastic lid that fits over and is removable from the top portion of the sidewall.

10 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 8 further comprising a re-sealable plastic wrap that fits over and is removable from the top portion of the sidewall.

11 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 8 , wherein the plastic ring is to provide additional structural support to the commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container.

12 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 8 , wherein the plastic ring is smooth and does not contact an outer portion of the top portion of the sidewall.

13 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 8 , wherein an inside of the bottom includes a polyethylene coating and an outside of the bottom does not include any coating.

14 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 8 , wherein the bottom is sealed to the bottom so as to create a recess between an outside portion of the bottom and the bottom portion of the sidewall.

15 . A commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container, comprising:
a single piece of cardboard constructed as a sidewall having a volume of greater than or equal to one an a half gallons; another single piece of cardboard constructed as a bottom, the bottom sealed to the sidewall along an inside portion of a bottom portion of the sidewall; and a smooth plastic ring, the plastic ring affixed on an inside portion of a top portion of the sidewall.

16 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 15 further comprising, a lid adapted to seal an opening associated with a top portion of the sidewall and further adapted to be removed and to re-seal the opening.

17 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 16 , wherein the lid is constructed of one of the following: cardboard, plastic, and a re-sealable plastic wrap.

18 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 15 , wherein the bottom has a greater circumference than that which is associated with the bottom portion of the sidewall.

19 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 18 , wherein excess circumference associated with the bottom is folded over and sealed along the inside portion of the bottom portion of the sidewall.

20 . The commercial bulk ice cream or frozen novelty container of claim 19 , wherein an outside portion of the bottom when sealed to the bottom portion of the sidewall creates a recess between the outside portion of the bottom and the bottom portion of the sidewall.
