Abstract

Shoe inserts, including midsoles, footbeds, sockliners and/or upper components with a moldable outer membrane having an upper portion and a bottom portion, with the bottom portion being injected through an injection means with one or more layers of granular ethyl vinyl acetate through one or more compartments located inside of the outer membrane, the layers of granular ethyl vinyl acetate being of various densities to fit the particular application, the granular ethyl vinyl acetate being produced through the breaking down of the physical state of solid foam ethyl vinyl acetate and with the granular ethyl vinyl acetate optionally containing on or more variety of colors.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An insert, such as a midsole, footbed, sockliner and/or upper component for a shoe comprising:
an outer membrane moldable into a desired shape said outer membrane having an upper portion and a bottom portion; granular ethyl vinyl acetate said granular ethyl vinyl acetate being created by the breaking down of foam ethyl vinyl acetate; means for injecting said granular ethyl vinyl acetate into said bottom portion of said outer membrane.

2 . An insert, such as a midsole, footbed, sockliner and/or upper component for a shoe as defined in claim 1 wherein said outer membrane is made of thermal polyurethane.

3 . An insert, such as a midsole, footbed, sockliner and/or upper component for a shoe as defined in claim 1 wherein said outer membrane is made of elastomeric silicone.

4 . An insert, such as a midsole, footbed, sockliner and/or upper component for a shoe as defined in claim 1 wherein said granular ethyl vinyl acetate is housed in one or more compartments inside of said outer membrane.

5 . An insert, such as a midsole, footbed, sockliner and/or upper component for a shoe as defined in claim 1 wherein said granular ethyl vinyl acetate can be multi-colored.

6 . An insert, such as a midsole, footbed, sockliner and/or upper component for a shoe as defined in claim 1 wherein said granular ethyl vinyl acetate can be applied in multiple densities.

7 . A method for manufacturing a shoe insert, such as a midsole, footbed, sockliner and/or upper component comprising:
molding an outer membrane from a mold, said mold being of a variable shape said outer membrane having an upper portion and bottom portion; breaking down solid ethyl vinyl acetate from a solid state to a granular state; injecting said granular ethyl vinyl acetate into said bottom portion of said outer membrane through an injection means.

8 . A method as defined in claim 7 wherein said outer membrane is made of thermal polyurethane.

9 . A method as defined in claim 7 wherein said outer membrane is made of elastomeric silicone.

10 . A method as defined in claim 7 wherein said granular ethyl vinyl acetate is housed in one or more compartments inside of said outer membrane.

11 . A method as defined in claim 7 wherein said granular ethyl vinyl acetate can be multi-colored.

12 . A method as defined in claim 7 wherein said granular ethyl vinyl acetate can be applied in multiple densities.
