Portable camping deck

Abstract

A unit of portable outdoor deck, for purposes such a camping, that combines a pair of substantially rectangular panels creating a top side, an underside, and edges. A hinge mechanism fixedly connects an edge of each of the preferably square panels for the purpose of folding for storage, transport and unfolding to set up the portable outdoor deck. There are at least four leveling feet adjustably attached to the underside to help compensate for uneven ground below the deployed deck.

1 . A unit of portable outdoor deck comprising:
 a) a pair of substantially rectangular panels having predetermined dimensions with each said rectangular panel defining a top side, an underside, and edges;   b) a hinge means fixedly connecting each of said pair of rectangular panels in a folded and unfolded position; and   c) at least four leveling feet adjustably attached to said underside of each said substantially rectangular panel.   
   
   
       2 . The portable outdoor deck unit, according to  claim 1 , wherein said predetermined dimensions are between about one foot and five feet in width and length with said edge depth of between about one-half and four inches. 
   
   
       3 . The portable outdoor deck unit, according to  claim 1 , wherein said predetermined dimensions are about three-foot square. 
   
   
       4 . The portable outdoor deck unit, according to  claim 1 , wherein said hinge means is a piano hinge fixedly attached to said edges of adjoining said rectangular panels. 
   
   
       5 . The portable outdoor deck unit, according to  claim 1 , wherein said hinge means is at least two strap hinges fixedly attached to said top side of each of adjoining said rectangular panels. 
   
   
       6 . The portable outdoor deck unit, according to  claim 1 , wherein said leveling feet are cylindrical members with an axial aperture and imbedded nut adjustably connected to a threaded bolt accessible from said top side of said rectangular panels. 
   
   
       7 . The portable outdoor deck unit, according to  claim 1 , wherein said leveling feet are cylindrical pads with an axial threaded stud adjustably connected to a threaded bracket fixedly attached to said underside of said rectangular panels. 
   
   
       8 . The portable outdoor deck unit, according to  claim 1 , wherein said leveling feet number nine per said rectangular panel. 
   
   
       9 . The portable outdoor deck unit, according to  claim 6 , wherein said cylindrical members are about two to six inches in diameter. 
   
   
       10 . The portable outdoor deck unit, according to  claim 1 , wherein edges of said substantially rectangular panels have protrusions and slots for releasably connecting said edges of another deck unit. 
   
   
       11 . The portable outdoor deck unit, according to  claim 1 , wherein said top side has a non-slip surface. 
   
   
       12 . The portable outdoor deck unit, according to  claim 1 , wherein a releasable means for holding said rectangular panels in a folded position is attached to said edges adjacent when folded.
