Package having vacuum packed absorbent article and methods thereof

Abstract

Vacuum packed absorbent articles including diapers, kits thereof, and retail packages including vacuum packed and non vacuum packed absorbent articles are disclosed.

         4 . A diaper kit, comprising:
 (a) an unused diaper in a compressed state;   (b) at least one diaper accessory; and   (c) an air impermeable encasement;   (d) wherein said diaper is vacuum-sealed with said at least one diaper accessory within an interior space of said air impermeable encasement, said diaper and said at least one diaper accessory being disposed within said air impermeable encasement with an airtight seal, and said interior space having at least a partial vacuum relative to atmosphere when said air impermeable encasement is sealed, whereby a pressure differential acts upon said encasement and said diaper to maintain said diaper in said compressed state.   
     
     
         5 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said diaper accessory includes moist wipes that are prepackaged within a moisture impermeable encasement. 
     
     
         6 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said at least one diaper accessory comprises one of the group of cologne, perfume, and an odor-reducing spray. 
     
     
         7 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said at least one diaper accessory comprises a dirty diaper disposal bag. 
     
     
         8 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said diaper kit is pocket sized. 
     
     
         9 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said encasement further comprises a tab that facilitates opening of said encasement for release of said diaper and said at least one diaper accessory therefrom. 
     
     
         10 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said encasement is formed from a flexible material. 
     
     
         11 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said encasement comprises at least a portion thereof that is transparent such that one of said diaper and said accessory are viewable through said encasement. 
     
     
         12 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said pressure is between about 5 millibars and about 1 millibar. 
     
     
         13 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said diaper is the only diaper disposed within said encasement. 
     
     
         14 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said diaper vacuum-sealed within said encasement includes a fold along a lengthwise aspect of said diaper in its nominal configuration. 
     
     
         15 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said diaper is sized to fit an adult. 
     
     
         16 . The diaper kit of  claim 4 , wherein said diaper and said diaper accessory are vacuum-sealed within the same compartment of said encasement. 
     
     
         17 . The diaper kit of  claim 16 , wherein said diaper and said diaper accessory vacuum-sealed within said encasement abut each other therein. 
     
     
         18 . The diaper kit of  claim 17 , wherein said diaper accessory is prepackaged prior to being vacuum-sealed with said diaper within said encasement.
