Mahjong roulette

Abstract

Mahjong wagering games are disclosed in which a player or players place a wager on which mahjong tile will be selected, the mahjong tile being selected with a mahjong roulette style wheel or by being revealed after selection from a boneyard. The wagers are based on a bet type provided in a bet table that comprises a matrix of mahjong tiles arranged in columns, rows or groups.

What is claimed is: 
     
         1 . A method of playing a mahjong game involving at least one player, the method comprising the steps of:
 a) receiving from each player a wager on a bet type, wherein the bet type is indicative of a mahjong tile or a group of mahjong tiles:   b) selecting a first mahjong tile: and   c) determining if the mahjong tile is within a player's wagered on bet type.   
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein selecting the first mahjong tile comprises spinning a roulette style wheel, wherein the roulette style wheel comprises a set of concentrically arranged mahjong tiles. 
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the roulette style wheel is a virtual wheel displayed through an electronic display unit. 
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first mahiong tile is revealed to the players after the mahjong tile has been selected from a group of mahjong tiles. 
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the group of mahjong tiles lay face down on a surface. 
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the group of mahjong tiles is a virtual one and wherein selecting the first mahjong tile comprises a user clicking on or somehow otherwise selecting a mahjong tile in the virtual group. 
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 6 , further comprising dragging a mahjong tile that has been selected to a first zone, and dropping the mahjong tile into the first zone. 
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the bet type comprises a player wagering on whether or not a particular mahjong tile will be the first mahjong tile. 
     
     
         9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the bet type comprises a player wagering on whether or not the first mahjong tile will fall within a group of mahjong tiles arranged on a bet table, wherein the bet table comprises a mahjong set arranged in a matrix. 
     
     
         10 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the bet type comprises a player wagering on whether or not the first mahjong tile will be one of the group of mahjong tiles known as the Character suit. 
     
     
         11 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the bet type comprises a player wagering on whether or not the first mahjong tile will be one of the group of mahjong tiles known as the Circles suit. 
     
     
         12 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the bet type comprises a player wagering on whether or not the first mahjong tile will be one of the group of mahjong tiles known as the Bamboo suit 
     
     
         13 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the bet type comprises a player wagering on whether or not the first mahjong tile will be one of the group of mahjong tiles known as the Major suit tiles, comprising tiles  1  &  9  of each of the Character, Bamboo or Circle suits 
     
     
         14 . A bet table comprising a set of mahjong tiles arranged in a matrix with columns, rows and groups, wherein each row, column or group comprises an ordered series of one or more mahjong tiles. 
     
     
         15 . A roulette style wheel comprising a set of concentrically arranged mahjong tiles. 
     
     
         16 . A mahjong game comprising:
 a) A roulette style wheel having a set of mahjong tiles concentrically arranged thereon; and   b) A bet table including a set of mahjong tiles arranged in a matrix with columns, rows and groups.   
     
     
         17 . A mahjong game comprising:
 a) A set of mahjong tiles;   b) A bet table comprising a set of mahjong tiles arranged in a matrix with columns, rows and groups, wherein the bet table is operable for accepting wagers; and   c) A boneyard area.   
     
     
         18 . The mahjong game of  claim 17 , wherein the set of mahjong tiles consists of a deck of cards made to resemble mahjong tiles. 
     
     
         19 . The mahjong game of  claim 17 , wherein the set of mahjong tiles consists of mahjong tiles.
