. The invention of claim 1 , wherein protecting various surfaces means protecting floors by covering the floor with the flattened Easy Painting Drop Board and positioning it flush against the wall or other straight-edged vertical structure
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein protecting various surfaces means protecting baseboards by leaning the Easy Painting Drop Board on top of the baseboard and positioning it flush against the wall
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein protecting various surfaces means protecting any horizontal or vertical surface from paint spray when using the Easy Painting Drop Board as a paint shield
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein protecting various surfaces means protecting floors by sliding the Easy Painting Drop Board underneath an open door that is being painted on one or both sides even when it may not be positioned flush against a wall
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein protecting means paint will not soak through or leak through the Easy Painting Drop Board or weaken it such that it might tear, dissolve, or degenerate and allow paint to penetrate to the surface being protected
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein dripping or airborne paint means paint dripping down a wall, door, or other vertical surface, or flowing through the air after applying paint to said surface by means of brushing, rolling, or spraying.
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein designed to fold means the Easy Painting Drop Board is pre-folded along a center flute with a rule crease such that the board can fold from 48″ to 24″ and lie completely flat or fold at various angles and rest upon another object
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein folds for special uses means for storage, within small confines such as closets, or at angles, such as a 90-degree angle when painting the inside of a narrow door frame
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein washable means that the Easy Painting Drop Board is intended to be washed by water and soap for the removal of latex paint and by paint thinner for the removal of oil paint
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein long-lasting means that the Easy Painting Drop Board is intended for numerous repeat uses before requiring replacement and is not intended for one-time, disposable use
. The invention of claim 11 , wherein long-lasting means weatherproof, harmless to leave outdoor, and without the need for special care or maintenance
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein synthetic material means corrugated 4 mm plastic
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein size and shape are 48″×20″ rectangular when flat and 24″×20″ rectangular when folded such that floors will be protected from drips on structures up to 12 feet tall, such that both sides of the Easy Painting Drop Board can be positioned face up without changing the claims made herein, and such that the corrugated flutes measure 20″ in length
. The invention of claim 1 , wherein user-friendly means that the Easy Painting Drop Board has 12 circular labels, 6 on the upside and 6 on the bottom side along the edges, allowing the painter to easily notice when he must slide the board to ensure that the area beneath the surface being painted remains covered and protected
. The invention of claim 15 , wherein 6 labels per side are located 3 to an edge, with 2 in the corners and one in the center
