Information processing apparatus and information processing method for executing print processing using hot folder
Abstract
The present invention intends to improve usability in entering print data using a hot folder. If exceptional setting for the page is set in the print setting, which is to be applied to the print data entered into the folder, when it is detected that the print data is entered into the folder, the total number of pages of the print data is calculated, and whether the calculated total number of pages fulfills the exceptional setting in the print setting or not is determined. If the calculated total number of pages fulfills the exceptional setting according to the determination, the print job including the print data and the setting of the print setting is generated. If the calculated total number of pages does not fulfill the exceptional setting, the print setting and the print data are matched.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An information processing apparatus comprising:
a detection unit adapted to detect that contents are entered into a folder; a calculation unit adapted to calculate the total number of pages of the contents when exceptional setting is set for a page in print setting to be applied to the contents entered in the folder; a determination unit adapted to determine whether the total number of pages calculated by the calculation unit fulfills the exceptional setting in the print setting; and a job generation unit adapted to generate a print job including the contents and setting of the print setting when the determination unit determines that the calculated total number of pages fulfills the setting of the exceptional setting.
2 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a judgment unit adapted to judge whether the contents have a concept of a page or not when exceptional setting is set for a page in print setting to be applied to the contents entered in the folder,
wherein the calculation unit calculates the total number of pages when the judgment unit judges that the contents have the concept of a page.
3 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , further comprising a matching processing execution unit adapted to execute processing relating to matching between the print contents and the print setting when the determination unit determines that the calculated total number of pages does not fulfill the exceptional setting as the calculated total number of pages is less than the total value of the number of objective pages set for exception.
4 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 1 , wherein when exceptional setting is not set for a page in print setting to be applied to the contents entered in the folder, the processing in the calculating unit is not executed, and wherein the information processing apparatus further comprises a print job sending unit adapted to send a print job, which is the contents with a work instruction sheet for the print setting added, to printing apparatus.
5 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 2 , further comprising a display unit adapted to display a confirmation screen relating to setting on a display device when the judgment unit judges that the contents do not have the concept of a page.
6 . The information processing apparatus according to claim 3 , wherein the matching processing execution unit displays a setting change screen relating to a change in the print setting on the display device so that the contents do not contradict with the print setting.
7 . An information processing method in an information processing apparatus, comprising the steps of:
detecting that contents are entered into a folder; calculating the total number of pages of the contents when exceptional setting is set for a page in print setting to be applied to the contents entered in the folder; determining whether the total number of pages calculated at the calculating fulfills the exceptional setting in the print setting; and generating a print job including the contents and setting of the print setting when it is determined in the determining step that the calculated total number of pages fulfills the setting of the exceptional setting.
8 . The information processing method according to claim 7 , further comprising judging whether the contents have a concept of a page or not when exceptional setting is set for a page in print setting to be applied to the contents entered in the folder,
wherein the calculating step calculates the total number of pages when it is judged in the judging step that the contents have the concept of a page.
9 . The information processing method according to claim 7 , further comprising executing processing relating to matching between the print contents and the print setting when the determining determines that the calculated total number of pages does not fulfill the exceptional setting as the calculated total number of pages is less than the total value of the number of objective pages set for exception.
10 . The information processing method according to claim 7 , wherein when exceptional setting is not set for a page in print setting to be applied to the contents entered in the folder, the processing is not executed in the calculating step, and wherein the method further comprises sending a print job, which is the contents with a work instruction sheet for the print setting added, to printing apparatus.
11 . The information processing method according to claim 8 , further comprising displaying a confirmation screen relating to setting on a display device when it is judged in the judgment step that the contents do not have the concept of a page in the determining.
12 . The information processing method according to claim 9 , wherein the executing step displays a setting change screen relating to a change in the print setting on the display device so that the contents do not contradict with the print setting.
13 . A program stored in a computer readable storage medium, for causing a computer to execute an information processing method, the method comprising the steps of:
detecting that contents are entered into a folder; calculating the total number of pages of the contents when exceptional setting is set for a page in print setting to be applied to the contents entered in the folder; determining whether the total number of pages calculated at the calculating fulfills the exceptional setting in the print setting; and generating a print job including the contents and setting of the print setting when it is determined in the determining step that the calculated total number of pages fulfills the setting of the exceptional setting.
14 . The program according to claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises judging whether the contents have a concept of a page or not when exceptional setting is set for a page in print setting to be applied to the contents entered in the folder,
wherein the calculating step calculates the total number of pages when it is judged in the judging step that the contents have the concept of a page.
15 . The program according to claim 13 , wherein the method further comprises executing processing relating to matching between the print contents and the print setting when the determining determines that the calculated total number of pages does not fulfill the exceptional setting as the calculated total number of pages is less than the total value of the number of objective pages set for exception.
16 . The program according to claim 13 , wherein when exceptional setting is not set for a page in print setting to be applied to the contents entered in the folder, the processing is not executed in the calculating step, and wherein the method further comprises sending a print job, which is the contents with a work instruction sheet for the print setting added, to printing apparatus.
17 . The program according to claim 14 , wherein the method further comprises displaying a confirmation screen relating to setting on a display device when it is judged in the judgment step that the contents do not have the concept of a page in the determining.
18 . The program according to claim 15 , wherein the executing step displays a setting change screen relating to a change in the print setting on the display device so that the contents do not contradict with the print setting.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
