Packaging box and assembly incorporating the same

Abstract

An assembly includes an electronic product ( 40 ), and a packaging box ( 10 ) for enclosing the electronic product therein. The packaging box includes a casing ( 12 ) and a cover ( 14 ). The casing includes a base wall ( 124 ) and four sidewalls ( 120, 121, 122, 123 ) disposed around the base wall. An accommodating space ( 125 ) is defined between the base wall and the sidewalls for enclosing an electronic product therein. Two opposite first sidewalls ( 120, 121 ) of the casing have two side plates ( 16 ) pivotably extending therefrom. The side plates include a plurality of projections ( 162, 164 ) extending towards the accommodating space for cushioning the electronic product. The cover is pivotably extended from a second sidewall ( 123 ) connected with the first sidewalls of the casing and covers the accommodating space.

1 . A packaging box comprising:
 a casing comprising a base wall and a plurality of sidewalls disposed around the base wall, an accommodating space being defined between the base wall and the sidewalls adapted for enclosing an electronic product therein, wherein two opposite first sidewalls of the casing each pivotably extend a side plate therefrom, the side plate comprises at least one projection extending toward the accommodating space for being sandwiched between the electronic product and a corresponding sidewall of the casing; and   a cover pivotably extending from a second sidewall between the first sidewalls of the casing, wherein the cover covering the accommodating space.   
   
   
       2 . The packaging box as described in  claim 1 , wherein the at least one projection comprises two first projections extending from sides of the side plates adjacent to the second sidewall, and two second projections extending from middle portions of the side plates. 
   
   
       3 . The packaging box as described in  claim 2 , wherein the first projections are disposed adjacent to a middle portion of the second sidewall, whilst the second projections are disposed adjacent to the first sidewalls of the casing. 
   
   
       4 . The packaging box as described in  claim 1 , wherein the side plates extend two wings at ends opposite to the second sidewall of the casing. 
   
   
       5 . The packaging box as described in  claim 4 , wherein the cover extends a locking plate from an end adjacent to the wings of the casing, the locking plate being sandwiched between the wings and a third sidewall opposite to the second sidewall of the casing. 
   
   
       6 . The packaging box as described in  claim 1 , wherein the packaging box is folded from a corrugated sheet. 
   
   
       7 . The packaging box as described in  claim 1 , wherein the projections are hollow rectangular-shaped in profile. 
   
   
       8 . The packaging box as described in  claim 1 , wherein the cover and the base wall of the packaging box respectively define holes therein. 
   
   
       9 . The packaging box as described in  claim 1 , wherein a buffer pad is sandwiched between the electronic product and the basewall of the casing. 
   
   
       10 . An assembly comprising:
 a heat dissipating apparatus; and   a packaging box for enclosing the heat dissipating apparatus therein, the packaging box comprising:   a casing comprising a base wall, and two opposite first walls and two opposite second walls disposed around the base wall, an accommodating space being defined between the base wall and the sidewalls adapted for enclosing an electronic product therein, wherein two opposite first sidewalls of the casing pivotably extend two side plates therefrom, the side plates comprises a plurality of first projections sandwiched between the heat dissipating apparatus and a second sidewall of the casing and a plurality of second projections sandwiched between the heat dissipating apparatus and the first sidewalls; and   a cover pivotably extending from the second sidewall of the casing for covering the accommodating space.   
   
   
       11 . The assembly as described in  claim 10 , wherein the heat dissipating apparatus comprising a heat sink and a fan mounted on the heat sink, the projection is sandwiched between a side of the fan and the corresponding sidewall of the casing. 
   
   
       12 . The assembly as described in  claim 10 , wherein the projections comprise two first projections extending from sides of the side plates adjacent to the second sidewall, and two second projections extending from middle portions of the side plates. 
   
   
       13 . The assembly as described in  claim 10 , wherein the side plates extend two wings at ends opposite to the second sidewall of the casing. 
   
   
       14 . The assembly as described in  claim 13 , wherein the cover extends a locking plate from an end adjacent to the wings of the casing, the locking plate being sandwiched between the wings and a third sidewall opposite to the second sidewall of the casing. 
   
   
       15 . The assembly as described in  claim 10 , wherein the packaging box is folded from a corrugated sheet. 
   
   
       16 . The assembly as described in  claim 10 , wherein the projections are hollow rectangular-shaped in profile. 
   
   
       17 . A packaging box for accommodating an article therein comprising:
 a base wall;   four side walls extending upwardly from four sides of the base wall, respectively, which include two opposite first side walls and two opposite second side walls, in which each of the two opposite first side walls extends a side plate from a top end thereof, the side plate being foldable relative to the top end and forming at least a hollow projection by bending a free end thereof, the at least a hollow projection adapted for cushioning the article; and   a cover extending from a top end of one of the two opposite second side walls, the cover being foldable relative to the top end of one of the two opposite second side walls.   
   
   
       18 . The packaging box as described in  claim 17 , wherein the side plate forms two spaced hollow projections by bending a free end thereof, the two spaced hollow projections adapted for cushioning the article, one of the two spaced hollow projections being located near a middle of the box than the other when the side plate is folded to a substantially horizontal orientation.
