Abstract
This invention relates to a sleeve for holding one or more digital video discs with a first dimension in a first pocket and the accompanying graphics having a second dimension in a second opposing pocket. The digital video disc is supported in the first pocket by one or more stop seals which elevate the digital video disc to a more accessible position for removal.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . The combination of a recording disc having a first diameter, a graphics page associated with the recording disc which has a first length greater than said first diameter, and a sleeve for holding said recording disc and said graphics page, comprising:
a flexible front sheet having a top edge, a bottom edge and two lateral edges; a middle sheet having a top edge, a bottom edge and two lateral edges; a transparent back sheet having a top edge, a bottom edge and two lateral edges, said front sheet, said middle sheet and said back sheet operably interconnected along at least said lateral edges to define a first opening to receive the recording disc and a second opening to receive the graphics page; and a disc stopping seal formed by interconnecting said front sheet and said middle sheet at a predetermined location to support said recording disc, wherein a first pocket associated with said first opening has a length substantially less than said second pocket associated with said second opening, wherein said recording disc is elevated above a bottom edge of said sleeve to facilitate removal of said recording disc from said first pocket.
2 . The combination of claim 1 , further comprising a binding strip interconnected to one of said two lateral edges which is adapted for interconnection to a binding device.
3 . The combination of claim 2 , wherein said binding strip further comprises a plurality of apertures.
4 . The combination of claim 1 , wherein said disc stopping seal has a geometric configuration of a substantially straight line extending between said two lateral edges.
5 . The combination of claim 1 , further comprising a frictional nub positioned along at least one of said lateral edges to impede the recording disc from falling from said first pocket when said sleeve is inverted.
6 . The combination of claim 1 , wherein said middle sheet is comprised of a non-woven material.
7 . The combination of claim 1 , further comprising a flap operably interconnected to said top edge of said flexible front sheet which is adapted to cover at least a portion of said first opening.
8 . The combination of claim 1 , wherein said recording disc is a least one of a compact disc, a digital video disc and a CD ROM.
9 . The combination of claim 1 , wherein said first pocket has a length substantially the same dimension as said first diameter of said recording disc.
10 . A sleeve adapted for holding at least one recording disc on a first side and at least one associated graphics page on a second side, comprising:
a flexible front sheet having a top edge, a bottom edge and two lateral edges extending therebetween; a transparent back sheet having a top edge a bottom edge and two lateral edges extending therebetween; a middle sheet having a top edge, a bottom edge and lateral edges extending therebetween, wherein said middle sheet is positioned between and interconnected to said flexible front sheet and said transparent back sheet to define a first opening between said front sheet and said middle sheet which is operably sized to received the recording disc and a second opening positioned between said middle sheet and said transparent sheet which is operably sized to receive the graphics page; and a disc stopping seal operably interconnecting said front sheet to said middle sheet to define a first pocket which has a total length less than a second pocket defined by said middle sheet and said transparent sheet, wherein said recording disc is positioned on an upper portion of the sleeve to facilitate removal.
11 . The sleeve of claim 10 , wherein said middle sheet is comprised of a non-woven material.
12 . The sleeve of claim 10 , further comprising a binding strip interconnected to at least one of said two lateral edges, said binding strip adapted for interconnection to a binding device.
13 . The sleeve of claim 10 , wherein said disc stopping seal extends substantially between said two lateral edges.
14 . The sleeve of claim 13 , wherein said disc stopping seal has a geometric configuration of at least one of a circle, a triangle or a rectangle.
15 . The sleeve of claim 10 , wherein said first pocket has as length substantially equivalent to a diameter of said at least one recording disc.
16 . The sleeve of claim 10 , wherein said disc stopping seal is positioned about 66% of the total length of said two lateral edges as measured from said top edge of said flexible front sheet to said bottom edge.
17 . A sleeve adapted for holding at least one recording disc on a first side and at least one associated graphics page on a second side, comprising:
a flexible front sheet having a top edge, a bottom edge and two lateral edges extending therebetween; a transparent back sheet having a top edge, a bottom edge and two lateral edges extending therebetween; a non-woven middle sheet having a top edge, a bottom edge and lateral edges extending therebetween, wherein said middle sheet is positioned between and interconnected to said flexible front sheet and said transparent back sheet to define a first opening between said front sheet and said middle sheet which is operably sized to received the recording disc and a second opening positioned between said middle sheet and said transparent sheet which is operably sized to receive the graphics page; and a disc stopping seal operably interconnecting said front sheet to said middle sheet at a position between said top edge and said bottom edge to define a first pocket which has a total length less than a second pocket defined by said middle sheet and said transparent sheet, wherein said recording disc is positioned on an upper portion of the first pocket to facilitate removal.
18 . The sleeve of claim 17 , wherein said disc stopping seal extends substantially between said two lateral edges of said flexible front sheet.
19 . The sleeve of claim 17 , wherein said disc stopping seal is positioned about two thirds of the distance from said top edge to said bottom edge of said flexible front sheet.
20 . The sleeve of claim 17 , wherein said non-woven material is comprised at least partially of a polypropylene material.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
