Book holder

Abstract

A book holder for holding a book within a range of lengths and thicknesses is provided. The book holder includes a first longitudinal frame member and a second longitudinal frame member adjustably slideably positioned with respect to the first frame member. A set of first and second spaced apart hooks are connected generally adjacent an extreme end of the frame members. At least one on the hooks on each frame member is generally being transversely positionally adjustable with respect to the connected frame member.

1 . A book holder for holding a book within a range of lengths and thicknesses comprising: 
 a first longitudinal frame member:    a second longitudinal frame member adjustably slideably positioned with respect to said first frame member; and    a set of first and second spaced apart hooks connected generally adjacent an extreme end of said frame members, at least one on said hooks on each frame member being generally being transversely positionally adjustable with respect to said connected frame member.    
   
   
       2 . A book holder as described in  claim 1  wherein both of said first and second hooks are positionally adjustable with respect to said connected frame member.  
   
   
       3 . A book holder as described in  claim 1  wherein said transversely positionally adjustable hook is pivotal about an axis generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of said frame members.  
   
   
       4 . A book holder as described in  claim 1  wherein said transversely positionally adjustable hook is transversely translatable.  
   
   
       5 . A book holder as described in  claim 4  wherein said transversely positionally adjustable hook is pivotal about an axis generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of said frame members.  
   
   
       6 . A book holder as described in  claim 1  wherein one of said frame members is insertable within said other frame member.  
   
   
       7 . A book holder as described in  claim 1  further including a clamping device to maintain a relative position of said first frame member with respect to said second frame member.  
   
   
       8 . A book holder as described in  claim 1  wherein said frame members are connected with a binder portion of a book case.  
   
   
       9 . A book holder as described in  claim 1  wherein a pivotal wing is connected on one of said frame members, said pivotal wing being connectable with a binder portion of a book case to connect said holder with said book case.  
   
   
       10 . A book holder as described in  claim 9  wherein a pivotal wing wherein said pivot wing is insertable within a portion of said binder of said book case.  
   
   
       11 . A book holder as described in  claim 1  wherein one of said hooks is metallic member with an extreme end coated with in a polymeric material.  
   
   
       12 . A book holder as described in  claim 1  wherein said hooks have a first portion extending generally along an axis generally parallel with a longitudinal axis of said frame members and a second portion spaced from and generally parallel with said first portion and extending in a generally opposite direction said first portion.  
   
   
       13 . A book holder for holding a book within a range of lengths and thicknesses comprising: 
 a first longitudinal frame member:    a second longitudinal frame member telescopically insertable within said first frame member adjustably slideably positioned with respect to said first frame member; and    a set of first and second spaced apart hooks connected generally adjacent an extreme end of said frame members, said hooks being generally being transversely translatable and pivotal about an axis generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of said frame members.    
   
   
       14 . A book holder for holding a book within a range of lengths and thicknesses comprising: 
 a first longitudinal frame member:    a second longitudinal frame member telescopically insertable within said first frame member adjustably slideably positioned with respect to said first frame member;    a clamping mechanism to retain a relative position between said frame members;    a set of first and second spaced apart hooks connected generally adjacent an extreme end of said frame members, said hooks being generally being transversely translatable and pivotal about an axis generally parallel to a longitudinal axis of said frame members; and    a wing pivotally connected with one of said frame members for connecting said book holder with a binder portion of a folding cover book case.
