Abstract
A computer-readable medium, device and system for calculating an out-shot sequence in a game of darts The device may include an input component, a processing component, and an output component. The input component may receive a player's turn score or overall score. The processing component may be in communication with the input component and may execute software instructions for computing an out-shot sequence based on the overall score. The output component may be in communication with the input component and the processing component and may provide the out-shot sequence to the player. The input component may also receive a player's out-shot preference and the processing component may compute the out-shot sequence based on the overall score and the out-shot preference.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A computer-readable medium having stored thereon computer-executable instructions for computing an out-shot sequence in a game of darts, the method comprising:
receiving at least one of a turn score and an overall score associated with a player's game; computing a first out-shot sequence based on the overall score, wherein the first out-shot sequence comprises a plurality of dart scores having a sum that is equal to the overall score; and outputting the first out-shot sequence to the player.
2 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 , further comprising computer-executable instructions for computing the overall score based on the player's turn score.
3 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 , further comprising computer-executable instructions for:
receiving a default out-shot preference; and computing the first out-shot sequence based on the default out-shot preference.
4 . The computer-readable medium of claim 3 , wherein the default out-shot preference comprises at least one of a preferred dart score, a non-preferred dart score, and a preferred order of the out-shot sequence.
5 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 , further comprising computer-executable instructions for:
receiving a specific out-shot preference; computing a second out-shot sequence based on the specific out-shot preference; and outputting the second out-shot sequence to the player.
6 . The computer-readable medium of claim 5 , wherein the specific out-shot preference comprises at least one of a preferred dart score, a non-preferred dart score, and a preferred order of the out-shot sequence.
7 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein each of the plurality of dart scores in the first out-shot sequence comprises one of a single-score, a double-score, and a triple-score.
8 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the last dart score of the plurality of dart scores in the first out-shot sequence comprises a double-score.
9 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 , wherein the first out-shot sequence comprises a first dart score, a second dart score, and a third dart score.
10 . The computer-readable medium of claim 1 , further comprising computer-executable instructions for outputting the first out-shot sequence to at least one of a website, a visual display and an audio speaker.
11 . A device for computing an out-shot sequence in a game of darts, comprising:
an input component that receives at least one of a player's turn score and overall score; a processing component in communication with the input component, wherein the processing component executes software instructions for computing a first out-shot sequence based on the overall score, and wherein the first out-shot sequence comprises a plurality of dart scores having a sum that is equal to the overall score; and an output component in communication with the input component and the processing component, wherein the output component provides the first out-shot sequence to the player.
12 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the processing component computes the overall score based on the player's turn score.
13 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the input component further receives the player's out-shot preference and wherein the processing component computes the first out-shot sequence based on the out-shot preference.
14 . The device of 13 , wherein the input component further receives changes to the first out-shot sequence and wherein the processing component computes a second out-shot sequence based on the received changes.
15 . The device of claim 14 , wherein the changes to the first out-shot sequence include modifying at least one of the plurality of dart scores in the first out-shot sequence.
16 . The device of claim 11 , wherein input component is at least one of a keypad, a keyboard, a scroll wheel, a touch screen, a speech recognition software module, and a target face of an electronic dart board system.
17 . The device of claim 16 , wherein the processing component automatically determines the player's turn score based on a location of the player's dart on the target face of the electronic dart board system.
18 . The device of claim 1 1 , wherein the output component comprises at least one of a visual display and an audio speaker.
19 . The device of claim 11 , further comprising a memory component in communication with the input component, the processing component, and the output component, wherein the memory component stores the executable software instructions.
20 . The device of claim 19 , wherein the processing component downloads the software instructions from a server that is accessible via a communications network.
21 . The device of claim 19 , wherein the memory component stores an out-shot preference associated with the player.
22 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the device comprises at least one of a cellular telephone, a personal digital assistant (PDA), a personal computer (PC), and an electronic dart board system.
23 . The device of claim 11 , wherein the processing component computes the first out-shot sequence for a game of English darts.
24 . A system for computing an out-shot sequence in a game of darts, comprising:
a website accessible to a player via a communications network, wherein the website receives at least one of a turn score and an overall score from the player; and a server in communication with the website, wherein the server executes software instructions for computing the out-shot sequence based on the overall score and displays the out-shot sequence on the website, wherein the out-shot sequence comprises a plurality of dart scores having a sum that is equal to the overall score.
25 . The system of claim 24 , wherein the server computes the overall score based on the turn score.
