Abstract
There is provided a game having a number of game pieces, each of which has a game piece level value. The game has a game level value, and players select game pieces such that a total of the game piece level values is less than or equal to the game level value.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A game, comprising:
a plurality of game pieces, each of which has a game piece level value, wherein said game, when played by a player, has a game level value, and wherein said player selects a subset of said plurality of game pieces such that a total of said game piece level values hi said subset is less than or equal to said game level value.
2 . The game of claim 1 ,
wherein said plurality of game pieces includes a first game piece having a first game piece level value, and a second game piece having a second game piece level value, and wherein said first and second game piece level values are different from one another.
3 . The game of claim 2 ,
wherein said first game piece has a first function in said game, and said second game piece has a second function in said game, and wherein said first and second functions are different from one another.
4 . The game of claim 1 , wherein said plurality of game pieces includes a first game piece and a second game piece that provide a function in said game only when both of said first and second game pieces are included in said subset.
5 . The game of claim 1 , further comprising:
a game area having spaces on which said subset is arranged when said game is being played, wherein said plurality of game pieces includes a first game piece having a first game piece level value, a second game piece having a second game piece level value, and a third game piece having a third game piece level value, and wherein said first game piece has:
(a) an attacking range that indicates a maximum quantity of said spaces over which said first game piece can attack another game piece during a turn of play, and
(b) an attacking ability value, such that said first game piece is permitted concurrently to attack both of said second and third game pieces if (i) said second and third game pieces are within said attacking range, and (ii) a total of said second and third game piece level values is less than or equal to said attacking ability value.
6 . The game of claim 1 , further comprising:
a game area having spaces on which said subset is arranged when said game is being played, wherein said plurality of game pieces includes a first game piece having a movement value, and wherein, during a turn of play, said first game piece is permitted to be moved a quantity of said spaces that is less than or equal to said movement value.
7 . The game of claim 6 ,
wherein said spaces are in a multi-dimensional configuration that includes a first direction and a second direction, and wherein said first game piece is permitted to be moved along said spaces in a sequence of steps that includes a first step in said first direction and a second step in said second direction.
8 . The game of claim 1 , further comprising:
a game area having spaces on which said subset is arranged when said game is being played, wherein said plurality of game pieces includes a first game piece having a movement value, and a combined movement and attack value, and wherein, during a turn of play, said first game piece is permitted to be moved (a) a quantity of said spaces that is less than or equal to said movement value, if said first game piece is being moved without attacking another game piece, or (b) a quantity of said spaces that is less than or equal to said combined movement and attack value, if said first game piece is both being moved and attacking another game piece.
9 . The game of claim 1 , further comprising:
a game area having spaces in a multi-dimensional configuration, on which said subset is arranged when said game is being played, wherein said plurality of game pieces includes a first game piece having a size that indicates a quantity of said spaces that said first game piece occupies.
10 . The game of claim 1 , further comprising:
a device for providing a numeric value with some degree of chance, wherein said plurality of game pieces includes a first game piece having a characteristic that is modified, based on said numeric value.
11 . The game of claim 1 , wherein said plurality of game pieces are cards.
12 . A game, comprising:
a plurality of cards, each of which has a card level value; a game area having spaces on which a subset of said plurality of cards is arranged when said game is being played; and a device for providing a numeric value with some degree of chance, wherein said game, when played by a player, has a game level value, wherein said player selects a subset of said plurality of cards such that a total of said card level values in said subset is less than or equal to said game level value, wherein said plurality of cards includes a first card having a first card level value, a second card having a second card level value, and a third card having a third card level value, wherein said first card has:
(a) an attacking range that indicates a maximum quantity of said spaces over which said first card can attack another card during a turn of play, and
(b) an attacking ability value, such that said first card is permitted concurrently to attack both of said second and third cards if (i) said second and third cards are within said attacking range, and (ii) a total of said second and third card level values is less than or equal to said attacking ability value, and
(c) a characteristic that is modified, based on said numeric value.
13 . The game of claim 12 ,
wherein said first card further includes a movement value, and wherein, during a turn of play, said first card is permitted to be moved a quantity of said spaces that is less than or equal to said movement value.
14 . The game of claim 13 ,
wherein said spaces are in a multi-dimensional configuration that includes a first direction and a second direction, and wherein said first card is permitted to be moved along said spaces in a sequence of steps that includes a first step in said first direction and a second step in said second direction.
15 . The game of claim 12 ,
wherein said first card has a movement value and a combined movement and attack value, and wherein, during a turn of play, said first card is permitted to be moved (a) a quantity of said spaces that is less than or equal to said movement value, if said first card is being moved without attacking another card, or (b) a quantity of said spaces that is less than or equal to said combined movement and attack value, if said first card is both being moved and attacking another card.
16 . A storage medium having a program encoded thereon that is executable on a processor to instantiate a game that comprises:
a plurality of game pieces, each of which has a game piece level value; a game area having a space occupied by a first game piece of said plurality of game pieces, wherein said game, when played by a player, has a game level value, and wherein said player selects a subset of said plurality of game pieces such that a total of said game piece level values in said subset is less than or equal to said game level value.
17 . The game of claim 7 ,
wherein said sequence of steps includes a third step, and wherein said first game piece retraces a step selected from the group consisting of said first step and said second step.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
