Abstract

A walking-stick umbrella ( 1 ) comprises a grip element ( 2 ), a walking stick ( 3 ) and a covering ( 4 ). The walking stick ( 3 ) is made from an at least partially transparent or light-transmitting material ( 10 ). The grip element ( 2 ) contains an energy storage element ( 6 ), a luminous element ( 5 ) with which light can be irradiated into the walking stick ( 3 ), and an electronic device ( 7 ) with which the luminous element ( 5 ) can be automatically controlled.

       13 . A walking-stick umbrella, comprising 
 a walking stick having a first end and a second end, the walking stick comprised of an at least partially light-transmitting material, the walking stick further comprising at least one graphic element;    a covering fixed proximal the first end and distal the second end of the walking stick;    a grip element fixed to the second end of the walking stick, the grip element comprising an energy storage element and a luminous element, the luminous element operable to irradiate light into the walking stick; and    an electronic device operable to control the operation of the luminous element.    
   
   
       14 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 13 , further comprising at least one sensor element electrically connected to the electronic device, whereby a measurement signal of the at least one sensor element operates the electronic device controlling operation of the luminous element.  
   
   
       15 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 13 , wherein the luminous element is operable to irradiate light of at least two colors into the walking stick.  
   
   
       16 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 15 , wherein the color of light irradiated into the walking stick may be varied and adjusted over time.  
   
   
       17 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 13 , wherein the luminous element comprises at least one light-emitting diode.  
   
   
       18 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 13 , wherein the at least one graphic element is located at least partially interior to the walking stick.  
   
   
       19 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 13 , wherein the at least one graphic element is produced by laser engraving.  
   
   
       20 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 13 , the graphic element prepared by a process comprising the steps of: 
 applying a complementary irradiation element having two sides onto a surface of one side of the walking stick, the element comprised of a transparent material with a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick; and    irradiating the walking stick with a laser beam originating on the side of the irradiation element opposite the side of the element that is applied to the surface of the walking stick, the laser beam focused on a point interior to the walking stick.    
   
   
       21 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 20 , wherein the process by which the graphic element is prepared is further comprised of the step of introducing a liquid between the irradiation element and the walking stick.  
   
   
       22 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 21 , wherein the liquid that is introduced has a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick.  
   
   
       23 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 20 , wherein the process by which the graphic element is prepared is further comprised of the step of applying a complementary reflecting element onto the surface of the side of the walking stick opposite the side to which the irradiation element is applied, the reflecting element comprised of a transparent material with a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick.  
   
   
       24 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 23 , wherein the process by which the graphic element is prepared is further comprised of the step of introducing a liquid between the reflecting element and the walking stick.  
   
   
       25 . The walking stick umbrella according to  claim 24 , wherein the liquid that is introduced has a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick.  
   
   
       26 . A walking-stick umbrella, comprising 
 a walking stick having a first end and a second end, the waling stick comprised of an at least partially light-transmitting material;    a covering fixed proximal the first end and distal the second end of the walking stick;    a grip element fixed to the second end of the walking stick, the grip element comprising an energy storage element and a luminous element, the luminous element operable to irradiate light into the walking stick; and    an electronic device operable to control the operation of the luminous element,    the walking stick further comprising at least one graphic element, the graphic element prepared by a process comprising the steps of: 
 applying a complementary irradiation element having two sides onto a surface of one side of the walking stick;  
 introducing a liquid between the irradiation element and the walking stick;  
 applying a complementary reflecting element onto the surface of the side of the walking stick opposite the side to which the irradiation element is applied;  
 introducing a liquid between the reflecting element and the walking stick; and  
 irradiating the walking stick with a laser beam originating on the side of the irradiation element opposite the side of the element that is applied to the surface of the walking stick, the laser beam focused on a point interior to the walking stick.  
   
   
   
       27 . A walking-stick umbrella, comprising 
 a walking stick having a first end and a second end, the walking stick comprised of an at least partially light-transmitting material;    a covering fixed proximal the first end and distal the second end of the walking stick;    a grip element fixed to the second end of the walking stick, the grip element comprising an energy storage element and a luminous element, the luminous element operable to irradiate light into the walking stick; and    an electronic device operable to control the operation of the luminous element; and    at least one sensor element electrically connected to the electronic device, whereby a measurement signal of the at least one sensor element operates the electronic device controlling operation of the luminous element,    the walking stick further comprising at least one graphic element, the graphic element prepared by a process comprising the steps of: 
 applying a complementary irradiation element having two sides onto a surface of one side of the walking stick, the element comprised of a transparent material with a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick;  
 introducing a liquid between the irradiation element and the walking stick, the liquid having a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick;  
 applying a complementary reflecting element onto the surface of the side of the walking stick opposite the side to which the irradiation element is applied, the reflecting element comprised of a transparent material with a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick;  
 introducing a liquid between the reflecting element and the walking stick, the liquid having a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick; and  
 irradiating the walking stick with a laser beam originating on the side of the irradiation element opposite the side of the element that is applied to the surface of the walking stick, the laser beam focused on a point interior to the walking stick.  
   
   
   
       28 . A process of making walking-stick umbrella, comprising the steps of: 
 creating a graphic element within a walking stick, the walking stick comprised of at least partially light-transmitting material and having a first end and a second end, the graphic element created by: 
 applying a complementary irradiation element having two sides onto a surface of one side of the walking stick;  
 applying a complementary reflecting element onto the surface of the side of the walking stick opposite the side to which the irradiation element is applied; and  
 irradiating the walking stick with a laser beam originating on the side of the irradiation element opposite the side of the element that is applied to the surface of the walking stick, the laser beam focused on a point interior to the walking stick;  
   affixing a covering to the walking stick, the covering affixed proximal the first end and distal the second end of the walking stick; and    affixing a grip element to the second end of the walking stick, the grip element operable to irradiate light into the walking stick.    
   
   
       29 . The process of  claim 28 , wherein the covering is affixed by one of form-fit and friction lock.  
   
   
       30 . The process of  claim 28 , wherein the grip element is affixed by one of form-fit and friction lock.  
   
   
       31 . The process of  claim 28 , wherein, in the step of creating a graphic element, a liquid is introduced between the irradiation element and the walking stick, the liquid having a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick.  
   
   
       32 . The process of  claim 28 , wherein, in the step of creating a graphic element, a liquid is introduced between the reflecting element and the walking stick, the liquid having a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick.  
   
   
       33 . The process of  claim 28 , wherein, in the step of creating a graphic element, the irradiation element is comprised of a transparent material with a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick.  
   
   
       34 . The process of  claim 28 , wherein, in the step of creating a graphic element, the reflecting element is comprised of a transparent material with a refractive index which differs by less than 5% from the refractive index of the light-transmitting material comprising the walking stick.
