Abstract

Eyewear member includes a structure for fitting peripherally on or around or behind lens and structure of conventional eyewear. Interfitting structure ranges from sealing segments to eyewear members which may attachably engage or simply interfit behind conventional eyewear. The eyewear members enables conventional eyewear to form a closer fit with the face of the user to protect the person's eyes from wind, water and foreign material. All embodiments contemplate selectable removability, replace ability and interchangeability.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 48 . (canceled)

49 . An eyewear member for use by a person wearing conventional eyewear, said eyewear member comprising:
a body having a peripheral region corresponding to a user's facial region surrounding the user's two eyes and utilizable with conventional eyewear, said body having a first side and an oppositely disposed second side, and an enclosure with at least one enlarged opening, said enlarged opening to align with at least one lens of said eyewear, said first side of said body to provide a close fit with a face of the person using said eyewear member to diminish the entry of foreign material and light between the eyewear and the person's face.

50 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 49 wherein there is another said enlarged opening dividing said body into a pair of separate eyewear member sections.

51 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 50 wherein said eyewear member sections are connected by a bridge.

52 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 51 wherein said bridge includes a structure separating said eyewear member sections.

53 . The eyewear members as defined in claim 50 wherein said separate eyewear members having at least one u-shaped channel or hook on each of said separate eyewear member sections, which provides for remove-ably securing and mounting of said body relative to the front surface of said conventional eyewear.

54 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 52 wherein said structure separating said eyewear member sections further comprises an interlocking structure.

55 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 49 wherein said eyewear member has at least one u-shaped channel or hook which provides remove-ably securing and mounting securement of said body relative to a frontal surface of said conventional eyewear.

56 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 55 wherein said u-shaped channel or hook is adjustable relative to said body to permit achieving usage of said eyewear member on a greater number of different designs of conventional eyewear.

57 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 49 further comprising a nosepiece mounted on said body, the nosepiece adapted to engage with a nose area of said conventional eyewear.

58 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 49 wherein a sealing material is attached to said second first side of said body for obtaining said close fit.

59 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 58 wherein said sealing material comprises a substantially straight segment which has a tapered configuration defining wider areas and a narrower areas to provide a contoured fit with a face of a person using said eyewear member on said conventional eyewear.

60 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 58 wherein said sealing material being remove-ably secured to said body to facilitate using substantially different sizes of sealing material according to desires of a user.

61 . An eyewear member for use by a person wearing conventional eyewear, said eyewear member comprising:
a body having a peripheral region corresponding to a user's facial region surrounding the user's two eyes and utilizable with conventional eyewear, said body having a first side and an oppositely disposed second side, and an enclosure with at least one enlarged opening, said enlarged opening to align with a lens of said eyewear, said first side of said body to provide a close fit with a face of the person using said eyewear member to diminish the entry of foreign material and light between the eyewear and the person's face, said second side having means for mounting said eyewear member to a frontal surface of said eyewear, and wherein said body includes adjustment means for varying the size of said enlarged opening.

62 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 61 wherein said eyewear member having at least one u-shaped channel or hook which provides for removably securing and mounting of said body relative to the frontal surface of said conventional eyewear.

63 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 62 wherein said unshaped channel or hook is adjustable relative to said body to permit achieving usage of said eyewear member on a greater number of different designs of said conventional eyewear.

64 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 61 wherein said means for mounting further comprises a nosepiece mounted on said body, said nosepiece adapted to engage with a nose area of said conventional eyewear.

65 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 61 wherein a sealing material is attached to said first side of said body for obtaining said close fit.

66 . The eyewear member as defined in claim 61 wherein said sealing material being removably secured to said body to facilitate using substantially different sizes of sealing material according to desires of a user.
