Abstract
When sending photographic image data obtained in an electronic camera 1 via a communication interface 42 to a radio telephone line of a PDC 3, a PHS 4, etc., an RISC-CPU 11 converts the image data to data having a configuration allowing communication and further converts by software processing the communication-allowing configuration data to data corresponding to the type of the radio telephone line.

electronic imaging means for converting an image of a scene into an image signal; image processing means for making a conversion processing of the image signal converted by the electronic imaging means into image date; first communication processing means for making a conversion processing of the image data conversion processed by the image processing means into a communicable data format; detection means for detecting a communication device to which the data is transmitted; and second communication processing means for converting the communication data format converted by the first communication processing means into a data format corresponding to the communication device detected by the detection means.
2 . An imaging device of claim 1 , wherein the second communication processing means modifies digital values of the communication data converted by the first image processing means to digital values corresponding to the detected communication device.
3 . An imaging device of claim 1 , wherein the second communication processing means includes a particular processing correction program corresponding to the detected communication device for modifying digital values of the communication data converted by the first image processing means to digital values corresponding to the detected communication device.
4 . An imaging device of claim 2 , wherein the second communication processing means convert the received data that differ depending on the communication devices to the data format for the first communication processing means when receives from the communication device.
5 . An imaging device of claim 1 , further comprising a communication interface circuit that partly or totally operates depending on the connected communication device.

An imaging device of claim 1 , wherein the second communication processing means transmits based on the type of the detected communication device when transmitting the converted processed image data but converts the image data into the communication data so that the imaging device can recognize depending on the type of the detected communication device.
7 . An imaging device comprising:
detection means for detecting the type of the communication device that is connected to a connector; memory means for storing processing programs corresponding to a plurality of communication devices; selection means for selecting the processing programs from the memory means depending on the type of the detected communication device; and a CPU for converting photographic or recorded image data of a scene into a first communication data and when transmitting the image data, for converting the converted first communication data into a second communication data for transmitting in response to the type of the detected communication device based on the type of the communication device and the processing program selected by the selection means.

An imaging device of claim 7 , wherein the CPU processes to convert the second communication data received from the detected communication device into the first communication data that is recognizable to the imaging device using the processing program corresponding to the type of the detected communication device.
9 . An image data transmission method for transmitting image data of an imaging device, comprising the steps of:
detecting a communication device to which the image data is transmitted; converting photographic or recorded image data of a scene into a first communication data; selecting a particular processing program corresponding to a communication device from memory means that stores processing programs in advance based on the type of the detected communication device; converting the converted communication data into the second communication data corresponding to the type of the communication device based on the type of the detected communication device and the processing program selected by the selection means; and transmitting the second communication data corresponding to the type of the communication device.
10 . An imaging device comprising:
electronic imaging means for converting a scene into an image signal; image processing means for converting the image signal converted by the electronic imaging means into image data; detection means for detecting the communication device to which the image data is transmitted; and a CPU for converting the image data converted by the image processing means into a communicable first data format and also for converting the first data format into a second data format (USB) corresponding to the communication device detected by the detection means.
11 . An imaging device of claim 10 , wherein the CPU generates the data the second data format by modifying digital values of the communication data converted into the first data format to digital values corresponding to the detected communication device.
12 . An image data transmission method for transmitting an image data of an imaging device, comprising the steps of:
converting an image of a scene into an image signal by electronic imaging means; converting the image signal that is converted by the electronic imaging means into image data by image processing means; detecting a communication device to which the image data is transmitted by image processing means; and converting the image data that is converted by the image processing means into a communicable first data format and also for converting the first data format into a second data format corresponding to the communication device that is detected by the detection means.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
