Abstract

Disclosed is a swimming device which allows a swimmer to read while swimming. A support structure is configured to support reading material in the form of a book, newspaper, or electronic reading device. An attachment device is operatively connected to the support structure and rigidly connects the support structure to the swimmer's body.

1 . A swimming device which allows a swimmer to read while swimming, comprising: 
 a support structure configured to support reading material in the form of at least one of: a book, newspaper, or electronic reading device;    attachment device operatively connected to the support structure rigidly connecting the support structure to the swimmer's body.    
   
   
       2 . The swimming device of  claim 1 , further comprising a device that increases resistance to movement by the swimmer.  
   
   
       3 . The swimming device of  claim 1 , further comprising a flotation device operatively connected to the support structure.  
   
   
       4 . The swimming device of  claim 1 , wherein the attachment device comprises a device for attaching the support structure to a flotation device attached to the swimmer's body.  
   
   
       5 . The swimming device of  claim 2 , wherein the device that increases resistance comprises stretchable material.  
   
   
       6 . The swimming device of  claim 2 , wherein the device that increases resistance comprises paddles which provide resistance in the water.
