System and method for future value wagering

Abstract

A system and method enabling a casino to issue chips or credits to customers whose redemption and face value is set at some future date. In one embodiment, a controller and disburser is disclosed which receives as inputs financial data, data as to how the amount of money the player wants to spend, and the future redemption date. The controller then calculates the chips or credits and controls the disburser to issue the appropriate amount of chips or credits. A method is also disclosed describing the steps performed by the system.

 determining a gaming result associated with a payout of a first amount; and    disbursing a gaming token based on the gaming result, the gaming token being associated with a future value greater than the first amount.

 determine a gaming result associated with a payout of a first amount; and  
 determine if the player is to receive payment of (i) the first amount or (ii) a gaming token associated with a future value greater than the first amount.  
   
   
   
       97 . A medium storing instructions adapted to be executed by a processor to perform a method of providing payments, said method comprising: 
 determining a gaming result associated with a payout of a first amount; and    determining if the player is to receive payment of (i) the first amount or (ii) a gaming token associated with a future value greater than the first amount.

 determining a slot machine result for a player, the slot machine result being associated with a payout of a first amount; and    arranging for the player to receive a gaming token associated with a future value greater than the first amount.    
   
   
       99 . The method of  claim 98 , further comprising receiving a first gaming token associated with a first future value from the player prior to said determination.  
   
   
       100 . The method of  claim 99 , further comprising receiving a selection from the player as to whether the player wants to receive (i) the first amount or (ii) the gaming token associated with the future value.  
   
   
       101 . A slot machine, comprising: 
 a processor; and    a storage device coupled to said processor and storing instructions adapted to be executed by said processor to: 
 determine a slot machine result for a player, the slot machine result being associated with a payout of a first amount; and
