Abstract

Various items of apparatus are disclosed including: 1) a gun ( 2 ) having a body ( 3 ), a trigger mechanism ( 4 - 21 ), a barrel ( 34 ), a magazine for holding a plurality of projectiles, and a traversing mechanism ( 44 ) for advancing the magazine stepwise and unidirectionally through a transverse aperture ( 30 ) through the body ( 3 ), 2) a device for dosing an exact amount of propellant material into the magazine, 3) a device for inserting a primer into the magazine, 4) a device for removing a used primer from the magazine and/or seating a projectile in the magazine, and (5) bullets of which one is particularly designed for the user with the gun ( 2 ).

       47 . A gun comprising a magazine for holding a plurality of projectiles, a body having an aperture extending in a first direction, a trigger mechanism for triggering the firing of a projectile from said magazine, a barrel for receiving and ejecting the fired projectile, said barrel extending in a second direction transverse to said first direction, a traversing mechanism for laterally advancing said magazine stepwise and unidirectionally in said first direction through the aperture and through said body, said magazine having a front face and a rear face and a plurality of chambers in lateral side-by-side relation with one another and each having an opening on said front face, said magazine being arranged to be loaded with said projectiles from the front of said magazine into a respective of said plurality of chambers each chamber defining a propellant-material-receiving, rearward portion and a projectile-receiving, forward portion, the arrangement being such that, if a double charge of propellant material is loaded in said chamber, a projectile then loaded in said chamber would extend beyond said front face of said magazine so that said magazine would be prevented from advancing through said transverse aperture.  
   
   
       48 . A gun according to  claim 47 , wherein a bullet-seating shoulder defines the boundary between said rearward portion and said forward portion.  
   
   
       49 . A gun according to  claim 47 , wherein each chamber includes a rearwardly open sub-chamber for loading with a primer, and a short bore interconnecting said sub-chamber and said rearward portion.  
   
   
       50 . A gun according to  claim 47 , wherein said magazine is a rectangular shaped block having laterally spaced sidewalls and upper and lower faces, said front and rear and said upper and lower faces extending laterally between said sidewalls and the cross-section of said block and said aperture are complementary with one another and center the projectile receiving chambers with the barrel when the magazine is passed laterally through the aperture.  
   
   
       51 . A gun according to  claim 47 , wherein said traversing mechanism includes a pin operably connected to said trigger for reciprocation thereby and the lower face of said magazine is formed with a groove system of a zig-zag form adapted to receive the Din, wherein reciprocation of the Din Produces said unidirectional stepwise advance of the magazine through the aperture.  
   
   
       52 . A gun comprising a long rectangular shaped magazine formed with a front face, surface portions and a plurality of chambers for holding a plurality of projectiles in lateral side-by-side relation to one another, a gun body, said body having a passage of rectangular shape extending in a first direction for passing the magazine laterally through the gun body and surface guiding portions, said surface guiding and surface portions of said magazine serving to guide and linearly advance of said magazine along said first direction and through said body, a trigger mechanism for triggering the firing of a projectile from said magazine, a barrel for receiving and ejecting the fired projectile in a second direction that is transverse to said first direction, a mechanism operably connecting said trigger mechanism and the magazine for advancing said magazine stepwise and unidirectionally through said transverse aperture, said magazine being arranged to be loaded with said projectiles from the front of said magazine.
