Abstract

Systems and methods for receiving content in a mobile handheld terminal are disclosed and may include receiving multimedia content via one of a VHF/UHF broadcast communication path and a packet-switched data path. Voice content may be received via a voice communication path. A multimedia signal associated with the multimedia content and/or a voice signal associated with the voice content may be selectively output based on an input to the mobile handheld terminal. The multimedia content may be received via both of the VHF/UHF broadcast communication path and the packet-switched data path. The packet-switched data path may include an EVDO data path and/or an HSDPA data path. The voice communication path may include a WCDMA communication path and/or an UMTS communication path. The input may be indicated via a software-controlled interface and/or a user-controlled interface.
