Portable barbeque grill

Abstract

A portable grill that includes a grill body and support stand that may be removably mounted on a wall and alternatively supported on a horizontal surface such as the ground or a table using the same support stand. A cutting board is selectively interchangeable with the grill body on the support stand. Alternatively, a support element includes depressed side regions that accommodate side projections on a grill body so that the grill body may be lowered onto the support element.

1 . A portable barbeque grill assembly, said grill assembly comprising: 
 a grill body, said grill body having an upper grill section and a lower grill section; and    a support stand, said support stand including a grill body receptacle, a mounting element, and at least one support element, said grill body being selectively receivable by said receptacle and said mounting element enabling said support stand to be detachably mounted to a generally vertical surface, said receptacle being oriented generally horizontally when said support stand is mounted to a generally vertical surface;    said at least one support element extending downwardly from said support stand beyond a bottom surface of said grill body when said grill body is received in said receptacle, said at least one support element enabling said support stand to be selectively supported on a generally horizontal surface with said receptacle being oriented generally horizontally when said support stand is supported on a generally horizontal surface whereby said grill body may be selectively and alternatively used to grill food when said grill body is received by said receptacle and said support stand is mounted to a generally vertical surface or supported on a generally horizontal surface.    
   
   
       2 . The portable barbeque grill assembly of  claim 1 , wherein said lower grill section includes a flange, said flange being supported by said receptacle when said grill body is received in said receptacle.  
   
   
       3 . The portable barbeque grill assembly of  claim 1 , wherein said receptacle at least partially surrounds said lower grill section and supports said grill body above said bottom surface of said lower grill section.  
   
   
       4 . The portable barbeque grill assembly of  claim 1 , wherein said receptacle comprises front and rear cross members and a pair of side support members.  
   
   
       5 . The portable barbeque grill assembly of  claim 1 , wherein said at least one support element comprises a plurality of legs.

The portable barbeque grill assembly of  claim 1 , wherein said grill body includes two laterally protruding side elements and wherein said receptacle includes two offset regions, and wherein said offset regions receive said laterally protruding side elements when said grill body is received in said receptacle.  
   
   
       7 . The portable barbeque grill assembly of  claim 6 , wherein said laterally protruding side elements are handles, said handles being adapted to enable an operator to carry said grill body.  
   
   
       8 . A portable barbeque grill assembly, said grill assembly comprising: 
 a grill body, said grill body having an upper grill section and a lower grill section; and    a support stand, said support stand including a grill body receptacle defining an opening, two rear support elements extending downwardly from said support stand with respect to a plane defined by said receptacle opening, a mounting element affixed to said rear support elements, and at least one forward support element extending downwardly from said support stand with respect to a plane defined by said receptacle opening;    said grill body being selectively receivable by said receptacle, said receptacle comprising frame members at least partially surrounding said lower grill section and supporting said lower grill section above a bottom surface of said lower grill section when said grill body is received in said receptacle; and    said support stand being selectively mountable to a generally vertical surface by said mounting element and alternatively selectively supportable on a generally horizontal surface by said rear support elements and said at least one forward support element such that said grill body is held in a generally horizontal orientation.    
   
   
       9 . The portable barbeque grill assembly of  claim 8 , wherein said frame members of said receptacle comprise front and rear cross members and a pair of side support members.  
   
   
       10 . The portable barbeque grill assembly of  claim 9 , wherein said grill body includes laterally protruding side elements and said side support members include offset regions, and wherein said offset regions receive said laterally protruding side elements when said grill body is received in said receptacle.  
   
   
       11 . The portable barbeque grill assembly of  claim 8 , wherein said lower grill section includes a flange, said flange being supported by said receptacle when said grill body is received in said receptacle.
