Hydraulic Wall-Dam
Abstract
The invention relates to a water-permeable dam which can be used to control a permanent flow of water and the water flow velocity. The inventive device comprises adjacent water-filled ( 2 ) shafts which are hydraulically-interconnected by means of holes ( 4 ) in order to equalise and control pressure. According to the invention, the aforementioned shafts are provided with decreasing heights such as to ensure a permanent flow from one shaft to another. Moreover, the flow channels ( 4 ) decrease from upstream down in order to maintain an overflow effect from one shaft ( 2 ) to another at the upper part ( 6 ) thereof, such that the upstream flow at the channel ( 4 ) is always greater than the downstream flow. The device can be used to produce water dams of all types and heights, while maintaining a controlled flow in terms of quantity and velocity. In addition, fish can move naturally in the tranquil stream of the current from upstream down and vice versa, thereby enabling the downstream and upstream migration of all types of fish.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . Water-permeable wall device for controlling and distributing hydrostatic forces using a water-filled structure, said device comprising adjacent reinforced concrete shafts (or any other material) filled with water, said shafts being linked together hydraulically by holes, possibly with pipes, so as to balance and control the pressures, the shaft heights being digressive, thus making the shape of a hydraulic weight type dyke-dam.
2 . Device according to claim 1 , having sections of water flow from one shaft to another which way in a decreasing way from upstream to downstream to maintain a permanent overflow effect from one shaft to the other at the top part of the shafts, the upstream flow at the level of the flow always remaining greater than the downstream flow, and allowing the control of the water flow speed from one shaft to another, and the flow rate, and consequently, the hydrostatic forces.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
