Abstract
A touch screen system includes a touch panel to input image signals, a touch controller to drive the touch panel, an extension between the touch panel and the touch controller, and an anisotropic conductive film electrically interconnecting the extension to the touch controller.

6 . A touch screen system, comprising:
a touch panel to input image signals; a touch controller to drive the touch panel; and an extension having a plurality of signal lines to transmit electrical signals between the touch panel and the touch controller, wherein the extension includes a plurality of end portions that correspond to a total number of the signal lines connected to the touch controller.
7 . The system according to claim 6 , wherein each end portion includes one of the signal lines that extends from an upper surface to a lower surface of the end portion.
8 . The system according to claim 6 , wherein the touch controller has a plurality of connection pads aligned with the signal lines.
9 . The system according to claim 8 , wherein the connection pads are connected to the signal lines by soldering.
10 . The system according to claim 8 , wherein the connection pads are connected to the signal lines by an anisotropic conductive film.
11 . A touch screen system, comprising:
a touch panel having a plurality of electrodes; a touch controller having a plurality of contact pads; and an extension having a first portion physically connected to an end region of the touch panel, a second portion electrically connected to the touch controller, and a third portion disposed between the first and second portions, wherein the second portion of the extension includes a plurality of individual end portions electrically connected to the plurality of contact pads.
12 . The system according to claim 11 , wherein the touch controller is mounted on a printed circuit board.
13 . The system according to claim 12 , wherein each of the plurality of individual end portions includes an anisotropic conductive film extending along upper and lower surfaces of the individual end portions.
14 . The system according to claim 13 , wherein the anisotropic conductive film extends along upper surfaces of the first and third portions of the extension.
15 . The system according to claim 14 , wherein a width of the first portion of the extension is larger than a width of the third portion of the extension.
16 . The system according to claim 13 , wherein the anisotropic conductive film on the lower surface of the individual end portion is connected to one of the connection pads using solder.
17 . The system according to claim 12 , wherein the connection pads of the touch controller are mounted on the printed circuit board.
18 . The system according to claim 17 , wherein the printed circuit board is disposed at rear surface of a liquid crystal module.
19 . The system according to claim 17 , wherein the connection pads are electrically connected to the touch controller by one of wires and conductive traces.
20 . The system according to claim 17 , wherein a first interval between the plurality of individual end portions is equal to a second interval between the connection pads.
21 . A liquid crystal display device, comprising:
a liquid crystal module; a touch controller provided in a touch controller area at a first edge of the liquid crystal module; a plurality of data driver integrated circuits provide along a second edge of the liquid crystal module within a data driver area; a plurality of gate driver integrated circuits provided along a third edge of the liquid crystal module within a gate driver area; and an extension provided along the data driver area into the touch controller area.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
