Abstract

A method for configuration of a data lens for use in translation of information between first information located in a first information storage location and stored in a first information format and a second information stored in a second information storage location and stored in a second information format, comprising the steps of determining the creator of the first information; determining the nature of said first information; determining the first information storage location; and determining a manner of recognizing items and elements in the first information. A method for translating information between first information in a first data format in a first data storage location and information in a second data storage format in a second data storage location includes identifying changed information in the first information, and using iterative techniques to determine if a corresponding qualifier may be identified. Additional qualifiers may be added as a result of identifying matching items in the two storage locations.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method for configuring a data lens for use in translation of information between first information having first elements located in a first information storage location and stored in a first information format, and second information comprising second elements located in a second information storage location and stored in a second information format, the method comprising the steps of:
determining a creator of said first information; determining the nature of said first information; determining said first information storage location; determining a manner of recognizing first elements in said first information by creating qualifiers to map between the first information format and a universal data format; wherein the step of creating qualifiers comprises prompting a user for input or employing a rules table.

2 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said step of determining the creator of said first information comprises determining an identity of a computer program employed to create said first information.

3 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said step of determining the nature of said first information comprises determining whether a nature of said first information comprises individual identification information.

4 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said step of determining the nature of said first information comprises determining whether a nature of said first information comprises video frame identification information.

5 . The method of claim 1 , wherein said step of determining said first information storage location comprises determining an address, login identifier and password to enable access to said first information storage location.

6 . The method of claim 1 , where said step of determining a manner of recognizing comprises creating a relationship between header information used in said first data format and item identification information.

7 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising the step of determining a time for processing of said first information.

8 . A system for configuration of a data lens for use in translation of information between first information having first elements located in a first information storage location and stored in a first information format, and second information comprising second elements located in a second information storage location and stored in a second information format, comprising:
means for determining the creator of said first information; means for determining the nature of said first information; means for determining said first information storage location; and means for determining a manner of recognizing first elements in said first information by creating qualifiers to map between the first information format and a universal data format; wherein said means for determining a manner of recognizing first elements further comprises means for prompting a user for input or employing a rules table

9 . The system of claim 8 , wherein said means for determining the creator of said first information comprises means for determining an identity of a computer program employed to create said first information.

10 . The system of claim 8 , wherein said means for determining the nature of said first information comprises means for determining whether a nature of said first information comprises individual identification information.

11 . The system of claim 8 , wherein said means for determining the nature of said first information comprises means for determining whether a nature of said first information comprises video frame identification information.

12 . The system of claim 8 , wherein said means for determining said first information storage location comprises means for determining an address, login identifier and password to enable access to said first information storage location.

13 . The system of claim 8 , where said means for determining a manner of recognizing comprises means for creating a relationship between header information used in said first data format and item identification information.

14 . The system of claim 8 , further comprising means for determining a time for processing of said first information.

15 . A machine readable storage device tangibly embodying a series of instructions for configuring a data lens for use in translating information between first information having first elements located in a first information storage location and stored in a first information format and second information having second elements located in a second information storage location and stored in a second information format, said instructions, when executed on a processor causing the processor to execute the steps of:
determining the creator of said first information; determining the nature of said first information; determining said first information storage location; and determining a manner of recognizing first elements in said first information by creating qualifiers to map between the first information format and a universal data format; wherein creating qualifiers comprises prompting a user for input or employing a rules table.

16 . The machine readable storage device of claim 15 , wherein said step of determining the creator of said first information comprises determining an identity of a computer program employed to create said first information.

17 . The machine readable storage device of claim 15 , wherein said step of determining the nature of said first information comprises determining whether a nature of said first information comprises individual identification information.

18 . The machine readable storage device of claim 15 , wherein said step of determining the nature of said first information comprises determining whether a nature of said first information comprises video frame identification information.

19 . The machine readable storage device of claim 15 , wherein said step of determining said first information storage location comprises determining an address, login identifier and password to enable access to said first information storage location.

20 . The machine readable storage device of claim 15 , where said step of determining a manner of recognizing comprises creating a relationship between header information used in said first data format and item identification information.

21 . The machine readable storage device of claim 15 , further comprising instructions when executed on a processor cause the processor to perform the step of determining a time for processing of said first information.
