Image display apparatus, image display controlling method, and image display program

Abstract

When opening of a lens barrier is detected, a camera mode processing starts. An object image is displayed in the aspect ratio of 4:3, and a user can carry out photographing by carrying out a shutter operation using a first side switch with the right forefinger while holding a portable telephone with the right hand. When opening of the lens barrier is not detected, a wide-screen display is set and a movie playback mode processing starts. The user can watch a playing-back movie while holding the both ends of the portable telephone in a state of being folded with the both hands so as to keep the display device with the longer side at the top.

1 . An image display apparatus comprising: 
 an image pickup device of a first aspect ratio;    a display device of a second aspect ratio which is different from the first aspect ratio;    a display control unit configured to display a through image on a part of a display screen of the display device based on image data output from the image pickup device and information relating to image pickup on a remaining part of the display screen of the display device.    
     
     
         2 . An image display apparatus according to  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 a selecting unit configured to select that the image data output from the image pick up device is stored in the memory as an image of the first aspect ratio or the second aspect ratio.    
     
     
         3 . An image display apparatus according to  claim 1 , wherein the second aspect ratio corresponds to a wide-display.  
     
     
         4 . An image display control method for an electronic device comprising an image pickup device of a first aspect ratio and a display device of a second aspect ratio which is different from the first aspect ratio, the method comprising: 
 displaying a through image on a part of a display screen of the display device based on image data output from the image pickup device and information relating to image pickup on a remaining part of the display screen of the display device.    
     
     
         5 . An image display control program for an electronic device comprising an image pickup device of a first aspect ratio, a display device of a second aspect ratio which is different from the first aspect ratio, the program being stored in a computer readable medium, and the program comprising: 
 computer readable program code means for causing a computer to display a through image on a part of a display screen of the display device based on image data output from the image pickup device and information relating to image pickup on a remaining part of the display screen of the display device.
