Abstract

This invention relates to an electrosurgical device having a hollow shaft, an electrically conductive distal tip that is also adapted for penetrating bone, and an intermediate electrically insulating spacer.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An electrosurgical device, comprising:
a hollow shaft made of an electrically conductive material having an annular wall having a longitudinal bore therein, a proximal portion and a distal portion, and a first window extending transversely through the annular wall; and a first electrode disposed within the window and being in electrical connection with a power supply.

2 . An electrosurgical device, comprising:
a hollow shaft having an annular wall having a longitudinal bore therein, a proximal portion and a distal portion, and a first window extending transversely through the annular wall; an active electrode disposed within the window and being in electrical connection with a power supply, and a return electrode disposed within the window and being in electrical connection with the power supply.
