Abstract

A pump for circulating a medium comprising an elastically deformable hose which lies against a pressing surface, and has a medium inlet and a medium outlet; and pressing elements which move along the hose and press the hose part in contact with a pressing element against the pressing surface while locally compressing and closing the hose part; whereby medium is drawn in via the medium inlet and discharged under pressure via the medium outlet. The pump has the special feature that the pressing surface, the hose and the pressing elements are situated in a bath with lubricant, and that the hose consists solely of a thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV).

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 11 . (canceled)

12 . A peristaltic pump for circulating a medium comprising:
a pump housing defining an interior space; a pressing surface within the interior space of the pump housing; an elastically deformable hose comprising a homogeneous thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV) wherein a portion of the hose is in contact with the pressing surface and the hose has a medium inlet and a medium outlet; a pressing means comprising a plurality of equally spaced pressing elements, wherein upon the activation of the pressing means, the pressing elements exert force on the pressing surface causing the pressing surface to exert force on the hose closing the hose so that a medium under pressure is drawn in via the medium inlet and discharged via the medium outlet; and a bath with lubricant that surrounds the pressing surface, the hose and the pressing means.

13 . The peristaltic pump as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the medium is a liquid, a gas, a slurry or any combination thereof.

14 . The peristaltic pump as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the pressing elements are rollers, cams or any combination thereof.

15 . The peristaltic pump as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the hose is made from a material comprising ethylene propylene diene rubber (EPDM) and polypropylene (PP).

16 . The peristaltic pump as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the hose is made from a material comprising nitrile rubber (NBR) and polypropylene (PP).

17 . The peristaltic pump as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the hose is made from a material comprising nitrile rubber (NBR) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

18 . The peristaltic pump as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the hose is made from a material comprising polyacrylate rubber (ACM) and polyamide (PA).

19 . The peristaltic pump as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the material of the hose has a hardness in the range of 55-95 Shore A.

20 . The peristaltic pump as claimed in claim 12 , wherein the pump is of the linear type.

21 . A peristaltic pump for circulating a medium comprising:
a rotating type pump having an interior space; a curved pressing surface within the interior space having a central axis; an elastically deformable hose having a medium inlet and a medium outlet, comprising a homogeneous thermoplastic vulcanizate (TPV), wherein a portion of the hose is in contact with the curved pressing surface; a rotor with a plurality of pressing elements positioned at equal angular and radial positions operably connected to the central axis wherein upon the activation of the rotor, the pressing elements exert force on the pressing surface causing the pressing surface to exert force on the hose closing the hose so that a medium under pressure is drawn in via the medium inlet and discharged via the medium outlet; and a bath with lubricant that surrounds the pressing surface, the hose and the pressing means.

22 . The peristaltic pump as claimed in claim 21 , wherein the pressing elements are rollers, cams or any combination thereof.

23 . A method of manufacturing a hose for a peristaltic pump, comprising:
heating a granulate having a rubber and a thermoplastic plastic; pressing the granulate though an annular extrusion nozzle via pressure wherein an extruded hose is formed; cooling the extruded hose; and separating the extruded hose from the nozzle.

       24 . A method of manufacturing a hose for a pump, comprising:
grinding a previously manufactured hose into a granulate of a rubber and thermoplastic; heating the granulate; pressing the granulate through an annular extrusion nozzle via pressure wherein an extruded hose is formed; cooling the extruded hose; and separating the extruded hose from the nozzle.
