Abstract

A mophead comprises a holder, flexible absorbent mop material held by the holder, and a cleaning implement. The cleaning implement is independent of the mop material and is permanently attached, or disengageably attachable, to the holder at a position adjacent to the outside of the mop material.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A mophead comprising:
a holder having an elongate body with a U-shaped channel with two longitudinally extending lower channel edges; a flexible absorbent mop material held in said channel between said two lower channel edges; and an abrasive pad independent of said mop material and attached to said body and extending partially around one of said two lower channel edges.

2 . The mophead of claim 1 , wherein said abrasive pad is permanently affixed to an exterior of said body and extends beyond a plane defined by said two lower channel edges without extending into said channel.

3 . The mophead of claim 2 , wherein said abrasive pad is permanently affixed with one of a bond, rivets, a weld, and stitches.

4 . The mophead of claim 1 , further comprising a clamp that releasably clamps said mop material in said channel.

       5 . A mophead comprising:
a holder having an elongate body with a U-shaped channel with two longitudinally extending lower channel edges; a flexible absorbent mop material held in said channel between said two lower channel edges; and a U-shaped channel element attached to one of said two lower channel edges and having one leg inside said channel, a second leg outside said channel, and an abrasive pad attached to an exterior of said second leg and to a base of said channel element, said abrasive pad being independent of said mop material and extending partially around the one of said two lower channel edges.

6 . The mophead of claim 5 , wherein said abrasive pad extends beyond a plane defined by said two lower channel edges without extending into said channel.

7 . The mophead of claim 5 , wherein said one leg of said channel element includes a slot and the one of said two lower channel edges includes a catch element that engages said slot to hold said channel element in place on the one of said two lower channel edges.

8 . The mophead of claim 5 , wherein said one leg of said channel element includes a protruding shoulder at a distal end thereof and the one of said two lower channel edges includes a catch element that engages said shoulder to hold said channel element in place on the one of said two lower channel edges.

9 . The mophead of claim 5 , further comprising a tab inside said channel and wherein the one of said two lower channel edges includes a catch element, said tab and said catch element each engaging a respective side of said one leg of said channel element to hold said channel element in place on the one of said two lower channel edges.

10 . The mophead of claim 5 , further comprising a clamp that releasably clamps said mop material in said channel.
