Abstract

A system and method includes conducting an exercise program by an exercise facilitator and transmitting part or all of the exercise program overall a communication link to a remote attendee. The exercise program may be live and may include interactive communication with the remote attendee such that the facilitator may observe and instruct the remote attendee during the exercise session.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A method of facilitating an exercise program, comprising the steps of:
providing an exercise facilitator leading an exercise program for at least a first remote attendee; providing a communication link for use in communicating at least a portion of the exercise program; and, communicating the at least a portion of the exercise program over the communication link to a remote location.

2 . The method as defined in claim 1 , further comprising the step of:
receiving tender for communicating the at least a first portion of the exercise program.

3 . The method as defined in claim 2 , further comprising the step of:
selectively activating the communication link responsive to the tender received.

4 . The method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the step of providing an exercise facilitator leading an exercise program for at least a first remote attendee, comprises the step of:
providing an exercise facilitator leading a live exercise program for at least a first remote attendee.

5 . The method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the step of providing an exercise facilitator leading an exercise program for at least a first remote attendee, comprises the step of:
providing an exercise facilitator leading a prerecorded exercise program for at least a first remote attendee.

6 . The method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the exercise facilitator is a trained exercise instructor.

7 . The method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the step of providing a communication link for use in communicating at least a portion of the exercise program, comprises the step of:
providing an interactive communication link for use in communicating at least a portion of the exercise program and for use in interacting with the at least a first remote attendee.

8 . The method as defined in claim 7 , further comprising the step of:
receiving feedback about the exercise activity of the at least a first remote attendee; and, coaching the at least a first remote attendee responsive to the feedback.

9 . The method as defined in claim 8 , wherein the step of coaching the at least a first remote attendee responsive to the feedback, comprises the step of:
coaching the at least a first remote attendee during the exercise program responsive to the feedback received.

10 . The method as defined in claim 8 , wherein the step of receiving feedback about the exercise activity of the at least a first remote attendee, comprises the step of:
observing the exercise activity of the at least a first remote attendee.

11 . The method as defined in claim 1 , wherein the step of providing a communication link for use in communicating at least a portion of the exercise program, comprises the step of:
providing one or more communication links for use in selectively remotely communicating at least one of an audio or video portion of the exercise program.

12 . The method as defined in claim 11 , wherein the one or more communication links utilizes one or more telephone lines.

13 . The method as defined in claim 11 , wherein the one or more communication links utilizes an internet communication link.

14 . A method of facilitating the transmission of an exercise program to a remote location, the steps comprising:
providing an exercise facilitator conducting at least a first exercise program for at least a first remote attendee; providing a control system operatively connected to a communication link, wherein the control system includes one or more input devices for use in transmitting the exercise program; receiving tender for activating the transmission of the at least a first exercise program; and, transmitting at least a portion of the exercise program over the communication link to a remote location.

15 . The method as defined in claim 14 , wherein the one or more input devices includes at least one of a microphone or a video camera.

16 . The method as defined in claim 14 , wherein the control system includes a host computer; and,
wherein the communication link utilizes a computer network.

17 . The method as defined in claim 16 , further comprising the step of:
displaying a schedule of available exercise programs for transmission to the at least a first remote attendee.

18 . The method as defined in claim 17 , further comprising the steps of:
archiving one or more prerecorded exercise programs.

19 . The method as defined in claim 16 , wherein the step of receiving tender for activating the transmission of the at least a first exercise program, comprises the step of:
receiving payment via credit card over the computer network for activating the transmission of the at least a first exercise program.

20 . The method as defined in claim 14 , wherein the communication link is a telephone line.
