Abstract

Facilitating the purchase of at least one resource is disclosed. Data is received from a set of one or more external applications. An approved purchase requisition is received. Information associated with the purchase requisition is validated. The purchase requisition is converted into a valid purchase order. The valid purchase order is exported to the set of one or more external applications.

1 . A method for facilitating the purchase of a resource comprising: 
 receiving data from a set of one or more external applications;    receiving an approved purchase requisition;    validating information associated with the purchase requisition;    converting the purchase requisition to a valid purchase order; and    exporting the valid purchase order to the set of one or more external applications.    
     
     
         2 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the received data is stored in a set of one or more partitions having a shape defined by a set of one or more variants.  
     
     
         3 . The method of  claim 2  wherein one of the partitions in the set of one or more partitions is associated with only one variant in the set of one or more variants.  
     
     
         4 . The method of  claim 2  wherein a variant is associated with one or more partitions.  
     
     
         5 . The method of  claim 1  wherein receiving data includes accessing a plurality of external applications simultaneously.  
     
     
         6 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the external applications include at least one ERP.  
     
     
         7 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the external applications include at least one of an SAP ERP, a PeopleSoft ERP, and an Oracle ERP.  
     
     
         8 . The method of  claim 1  wherein the set of one or more external applications includes a plurality of external applications.  
     
     
         9 . A system for facilitating the purchase of a resource, including: 
 a processor; and    a memory coupled with the processor, wherein the memory is configured to provide the processor with instructions which when executed cause the processor to: 
 receive data from a set of one or more external applications;  
 receive an approved purchase requisition;  
 validate information associated with the. purchase requisition;  
 convert the purchase requisition to a valid purchase order; and  
 export the valid purchase order to the set of one or more external applications.  
   
     
     
         10 . The system of  claim 9  wherein the received data is stored in a set of one or more partitions having a shape defined by a set of one or more variants.  
     
     
         11 . The system of  claim 10  wherein one of the partitions in the set of one or more partitions is associated with only one variant in the set of one or more variants.

         13 . The system of  claim 9  wherein receiving data includes accessing a plurality of external applications simultaneously.  
     
     
         14 . The system of  claim 9  wherein the external applications include at least one ERP.  
     
     
         15 . The system of  claim 9  wherein the external applications include at least one of an SAP ERP, a PeopleSoft ERP, and an Oracle ERP.  
     
     
         16 . The system of  claim 9  wherein the set of one or more external applications includes a plurality of external applications.  
     
     
         17 . A computer program product for facilitating the purchase of at least one resource, the computer program product being embodied in a computer readable medium and comprising computer instructions for: 
 receiving data from a set of one or more external applications;    receiving an approved purchase requisition;    validating information associated with the purchase requisition;    converting the purchase requisition to a valid purchase order; and    exporting the valid purchase order to the set of one or more external applications.    
     
     
         18 . A computer program product as recited in  claim 17  wherein the received data is stored in a set of one or more partitions having a shape defined by a set of one or more variants.  
     
     
         19 . A computer program product as recited in  claim 18  wherein one of the partitions in the set of one or more partitions is associated with only one variant in the set of one or more variants.  
     
     
         20 . A computer program product as recited in  claim 18  wherein a variant is associated with one or more partitions.  
     
     
         21 . A computer program product as recited in  claim 17  wherein receiving data includes accessing a plurality of external applications simultaneously.  
     
     
         22 . A computer program product as recited in  claim 17  wherein the external applications include at least one ERP.
