Martial arts practice assembly
Abstract
An assembly structured to facilitate the practice of various martial art techniques by an individual such as kicks, punches and other physically delivered blows associated with various forms of the martial arts. At least one elongated stanchion is operatively supported by a base, preferably having a stabilizing assembly, in a substantially vertical, upright position. The stanchion comprises a plurality of support assemblies extending outwardly therefrom and being adjustable at various heights along the length thereof. Each or a predetermined number of the support assemblies include a mounting structure secured to an outer end thereof at a predetermined orientation. Each of the mounting structures is dimensioned, disposed and configured to have a striking target, such as a Thai pad, or like structure disposed in an exposed, accessible location to facilitate the delivery, by the individual, of different types of martial art blows.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . An assembly structured to facilitate the practice of martial art techniques, said assembly comprising:
at least one elongated stanchion and a supporting base connected thereto, said base disposed and structured to facilitate a substantially upright, operative orientation of said stanchion on a supporting surface, at least one support assembly adjustably connected to said stanchion and including a mounting structure connected thereto, said support assembly and said mounting structure cooperatively structured to position a striking target in an exposed, accessible location and at a predetermined orientation to facilitate striking thereof, and a stabilizing assembly removably connected to said base and structured to maintain said stanchion in said operative position during striking of the striking target.
2 . An assembly as recited in claim 1 wherein said one stanchion is removably connected to said base.
3 . An assembly as recited in claim 1 wherein said stabilizing assembly comprises at least one stabilizing structure comprising a selectively variable weight.
4 . An assembly as recited in claim 3 wherein said selectively variable weight is at least partially defined by a variable quantity of fluid.
5 . An assembly as recited in claim 3 wherein said one stabilizing structure comprises a container assembly having a chamber structured to contain a variable quantity of fluid therein.
6 . An assembly as recited in claim 5 wherein said variable weight is at least partially defined by said variable quantity of fluid.
7 . An assembly as recited in claim 5 wherein said container assembly comprises a drain structure disposed and structured to remove fluid from said chamber.
8 . An assembly as recited in claim 5 wherein said container is removably connected in supported relation on said base.
9 . An assembly as recited in claim 1 wherein said stabilizing assembly comprises a plurality of containers each having a chamber structured to contain a variable quantity of fluid therein.
10 . An assembly as recited in claim 9 wherein said variable quantity of fluid collectively and at least partially defines said variable weight.
11 . An assembly as recited in claim 9 wherein said a plurality of containers are removably connected in supported relation on said base.
12 . An assembly as recited in claim 11 wherein said plurality of containers are separable from one another and independently connected to said base.
13 . An assembly as recited in claim 9 wherein each of said plurality of containers comprise a drain structure disposed and structured to remove fluid from corresponding ones of said chambers.
14 . As assembly as recited in claim 1 wherein said mounting structure comprises an adaptor member disposed and structured to releasably secure a portion of the striking target in a target retaining position on said mounting structure.
15 . An assembly as recited in claim 14 wherein said adaptor member comprises a substantially hook shaped portion disposed and configured to releasably retain a correspondingly disposed and cooperatively configured portion of the striking target.
16 . An assembly as recited in claim 15 wherein said adaptor member further comprises a plate segment, said hook shaped portion connected to an extending outwardly from an outer extremity of plate segment.
17 . An assembly as recited in claim 16 wherein said hook shaped portion is further disposed in inwardly extending relation to an outer exposed surface of said plate segment.
18 . An assembly as recited in claim 15 wherein said adaptor member is connected to at least one end of said mounting structure.
19 . An assembly as recited in claim 1 comprising at least one other stanchion connected to said base in a substantially upright, operative position.
20 . An assembly as recited in claim 19 wherein said base comprises separable portions at least two of which are connected in supporting relation to different ones of said one stanchion and said other stanchion.
21 . An assembly as recited in claim 20 wherein said one stanchion and said other stanchion are separable from one another and removably connected to corresponding ones of said separable portions of said base.
22 . An assembly as recited in claim 20 wherein said base comprises a plurality of legs at least some of which are removably connected to one another by a brace segment to at least partially define said separable portions.
23 . An assembly as recited in claim 22 wherein one of said separable portions includes a brace extension interconnecting said other stanchion to said one separable portion.
24 . An assembly as recited in claim 23 wherein said other stanchion is disposed laterally outward, in spaced relation to a remainder of said base and the other of said separable portions.
25 . A practice assembly as recited in claim 1 wherein said mounting structure is movably connected to said support assembly.
26 . A practice assembly as recited in claim 25 further comprising a force absorbing assembly disposed and structured to at least partially absorb forces exerted on said mounting structure during striking of the striking target connected to said mounting structure.
27 . A practice assembly as recited in claim 26 wherein said force absorbing assembly comprises a biasing structure disposed and structured to normally bias said mounting structure into an extended position relative to said support assembly.
28 . A practice assembly as recited in claim 27 wherein said mounting structure is cooperatively structured with said biasing structure and disposed relative to said support assembly to assume an at least partially retracted position upon striking of the striking target connected to said mounting structure.
29 . A practice assembly as recited in claim 26 wherein said support assembly comprises a support arm; said mounting structure movably connected to said support arm and disposed at least partially adjacent and outer end thereof, said biasing structure disposed between a portion of said support arm and said mounting structure, said biasing structure structured to normally bias said mounting structure into an outwardly extended position relative to said support arm.
30 .
