Abstract

A method and recording medium for managing an A/V stream are discussed. According to an embodiment, the method includes a method for managing a main Audio/Video (A/V) stream on a recording medium, the method comprising: providing a first playlist on the recording medium that links the main A/V stream with a first additional data such that the main A/V stream is reproduced with the first additional data; and providing a second playlist on the recording medium that links the main A/V stream with a second additional data such that the main A/V stream is reproduced with the second additional data.

1 . A method for managing a main Audio/Video (A/V) stream on a recording medium, the method comprising: 
 providing a first playlist on the recording medium that links the main A/V stream with a first additional data such that the main A/V stream is reproduced with the first additional data; and    providing a second playlist on the recording medium that links the main A/V stream with a second additional data such that the main A/V stream is reproduced with the second additional data.    
   
   
       2 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 selectively reproducing the first and second playlists from the recording medium.    
   
   
       3 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first playlist includes a main path corresponding to the main A/V stream and a sub path corresponding to the first additional data, and the second playlist includes a main path corresponding to the main A/V stream and a sub path corresponding to the second additional data.  
   
   
       4 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 providing management information on the recording medium for managing both of the first and second playlists.    
   
   
       5 . The method of  claim 4 , wherein the management information for both of the first and second playlists is included in a same file on the recording medium.  
   
   
       6 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the first and second additional data comprise first and second audio streams, respectively.  
   
   
       7 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein a number of the playlists corresponds to a number of the additional data.  
   
   
       8 . A method for reproducing a main Audio/Video (A/V) stream from a recording medium, the method comprising: 
 reading playlist management information from the recording medium, said playlist management information including at least a first playlist that links the main A/V stream with a first additional data such that the main A/V stream is reproduced with the first additional data, and a second playlist that links the main A/V stream with a second additional data such that the main A/V stream is reproduced with the second additional data.    
   
   
       9 . The method of  claim 8 , further comprising: 
 selectively reproducing the first and second playlists from the recording medium.    
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the first playlist includes a main path corresponding to the main A/V stream and a sub path corresponding to the first additional data, and the second playlist includes a main path corresponding to the main A/V stream and a sub path corresponding to the second additional data.  
   
   
       11 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the playlist management information is included in a same file on the recording medium.  
   
   
       12 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein the first and second additional data comprise first and second audio streams, respectively.  
   
   
       13 . The method of  claim 8 , wherein a number of the playlists corresponds to a number of the additional data.  
   
   
       14 . A recording medium to be read by a video disc recorder, the recording medium comprising: 
 a main Audio/Video (A/V) stream; and    playlist management information including at least a first playlist that links the main A/V stream with a first additional data such that the main A/V stream is reproduced with the first additional data, and a second playlist that links the main A/V stream with a second additional data such that the main A/V stream is reproduced with the second additional data.    
   
   
       15 . The recording medium of  claim 14 , wherein the first playlist includes a main path corresponding to the main A/V stream and a sub path corresponding to the first additional data, and the second playlist includes a main path corresponding to the main A/V stream and a sub path corresponding to the second additional data.  
   
   
       16 . The recording medium of  claim 14 , wherein the playlist management information is included in a same file on the recording medium.  
   
   
       17 . The recording medium of  claim 14 , wherein the first and second additional data comprise first and second audio streams, respectively.  
   
   
       18 . The recording medium of  claim 14 , wherein a number of the playlists corresponds to a number of the additional data.
