Updating student records in student profiles
Abstract
This invention is a computer based system for the assessment, management and instruction of students, and for the delivery of work pages and other instructional materials in the form of electronic student workbooks. The computer based assessment of the student produces a student profile including skill gaps or learning objectives. Teacher ( 20 ) and student ( 22 ) workstations are networked CPUs with pen-based tablet inputs, and displays network with a central processor ( 10 ) and data base. A director workstation may also be networked with the central processor. The central processor generates a teacher workbook either directly or with input from the director workstation. The teacher, or teacher and director together, assemble an electronic student workbook containing instructional materials correlated with the student profile. The system tracks useful data such as instructional material (e.g., textbook pages, work sheets, software, simulations, tests, etc.) delivered to students.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 - 39 . (canceled)
40 . A method of updating student records in a student profile comprising:
generating a student workbook at a student workstation based on the student profile; using the student workbook to present instructional material correlated to a learning objective stored in the student profile; collecting student's input data at the student workstation in response to the presentation of instructional material; analyzing the student's input data; and updating a student record in the student profile according to the analysis of the student's input data.
41 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the analysis of the student's input data comprises determining whether the learning objective is met and if so, the updating of the student record comprises removing the learning objective from the student profile.
42 . The method of claim 1 , wherein the analyzing student's input data comprises determining a new learning objective based on the student's input data.
43 . The method of claim 3 , wherein, if a new learning objective is determined in the analysis of student's input data, then the updating student record comprises:
determining if a learning objective corresponding to the new learning objective already exists in the student profile; and if not, creating a new learning objective in the student profile.
44 . The method of claim 1 , further comprising:
collecting teacher's input data at a teacher workstation; and updating the student's profile based on the teacher's input data.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
