Form for concrete walls
Abstract
The invention provides a form for use in a concrete wall forming system to define wall sections meeting an intersection region. The form comprises: panels arranged in a spaced relationship to each other to define there between a volume for each wall section and an intersection volume for the intersection region; and a series of ties forming a stack of ties. Each tie has an exterior frame having at least three sides, corners where two adjacent sides meet and a web member spanning generally across an interior volume within the frame. Each tie is located in the intersection region with two sides spanning between opposing sides of opposing panels and has each corner embedded within a panel. The form may be insulated.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A form for use in a concrete wall forming system to define a plurality of wall sections meeting at an intersection region, comprising:
a plurality of panels, arranged in a spaced relationship to each other to define a volume there between for each wall section of said plurality of wall sections and an intersection volume for said intersection region; and a tie having a corner piece with webs spanning outwardly therefrom, said tie inserted within one panel of said plurality of panels about said transition zone such that said webs span through said transition zone from about a corner of said one panel to points about a corner in an adjacent panel of the plurality of panels.
2 . The form as claimed in claim 1 , wherein
said plurality of wall sections comprise first and second sections meeting at a predetermined angle at said intersection region; said plurality of panels comprise an inner panel and an outer panel; and said tie is oriented generally horizontally among said plurality of wall sections and further comprises
a span linking two ends of two webs of said webs;
a vertical flange located about an end of one web of said webs; and
a second vertical flange located about said corner piece.
3 . The form as claimed in claim 2 , wherein said tie is arranged in a stack with another tie about said intersection region.
4 . The form as claimed in claim 3 , wherein an end of said webs is connected via spans.
5 . The form as claimed in claim 4 , wherein said tie further comprises an interior web joining said webs about anterior ends of said webs.
6 . The form as claimed in claim 5 , wherein said tie further comprises a bar alignment feature located on said webs within said transition zone.
7 . The form as claimed in claim 6 , wherein said tie further comprises a third vertical flange aligning with an interior face of outer panel; and a fourth vertical flange aligning with an interior face of inner panel.
8 . The form as claimed in claim 7 , further comprising:
a third tie located along said volume between said plurality of panels; and a physical feature in one of said plurality of panels indicating that said third tie is located about said physical feature.
9 . The form as claimed in claim 7 , wherein said tie provides a flange area for receiving a fastener therethrough.
10 . A tie for use in a form used in a concrete wall forming system, comprising:
a corner piece with webs spanning radially, horizontally outwardly therefrom; a horizontal span linking two ends of two webs of said webs; a vertical flange located about an end of one web of said webs; and a second vertical flange located about said corner piece.
11 . The tie for use in a form as claimed in claim 10 , wherein all outer ends of said webs are connected via horizontal spans.
12 . The tie for use in a form as claimed in claim 11 , further comprising features along its upper and lower edges allowing stacking of said tie with other ties.
13 . A form for use in a concrete wall forming system, comprising
a plurality of wall panels forming an intersection region; and a tie having an exterior frame having at least three sides, corners where two adjacent sides of said three sides meet and a web member spanning generally horizontally across an interior volume within said frame, said tie being located in said intersection region with two sides of said at least three sides spanning between opposing sides of opposing panels of said plurality of wall panels and having each corner of said corners embedded within one of said opposing panels.
14 . The form as claimed in claim 13 , wherein said tie is aligned with a second tie located above said tie.
15 . The form as claimed in claim 14 , wherein
said plurality of wall panels comprise first and second panels forming two wall sections meeting at a predetermined angle at said intersection region; and said form further comprises a vertical tie located between said two opposing panels having anterior ends embedded in each of said two opposing panels.
16 . The form as claimed in claim 15 , wherein
said third and fourth sides comprise at least one bar alignment feature extending vertically from a surface thereof.
17 . The form as claimed in claim 16 , wherein
said first and second sides comprise a vertical flange embedded in an outer panel of said opposing panels; and said fourth corner is inwardly notched and has a vertical flange embedded in an inner panel of said opposing panels.
18 . The form as claimed in claim 17 , wherein
said vertical flange on said first and second sides and said vertical flange at said fourth corner are each shaped to define continuous sides for said tie.
19 . The form as claimed in claim 18 , wherein at least one of said continuous sides defines shaped voids defined by edges of said vertical flanges.
20 . The form as claimed in claim 14 , wherein
said plurality of wall panels comprise first, second and third panels forming three wall sections meeting at a predetermined angle at said intersection region; said exterior frame comprises four sides and four corners; said second and third panels are corner panels; said first and second corners of said exterior frame are embedded in said first panel; a third corner of said exterior frame is embedded in said second panel; a fourth corner of said exterior frame is embedded in said third panel; a first side of said exterior frame spans between first and second panels; a second side of said exterior frame spans between second and third panels; a third side of said exterior frame spans between first and third panels; and a fourth side of said exterior frame is embedded in said first panel.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
