Abstract

The present invention comprises compositions and methods for delivery systems of agents, including therapeutic compounds, pharmaceutical agents, drugs, detection agents, nucleic acid sequences and biological factors. In general, these vector compositions comprise a colloidal metal, derivatized PEG (polyethylene glycol) and an agent. The invention also comprises methods and compositions for making such colloidal metal compositions and for treatment of cancer.

         25 . A method for targeted delivery to tumors comprising administering a composition comprising a colloidal metal particle and a radioactive agent.  
     
     
         26 . The method of  claim 25 , wherein the composition further comprises a PEG derivative.  
     
     
         27 . The method of  claim 26 , wherein the PEG derivative is bound to the colloidal metal particle.  
     
     
         28 . A method of treating a solid tumor comprising administering to an organism having a solid tumor, a composition comprising a colloidal metal particle and a radioactive agent.  
     
     
         29 . The method of  claim 28 , wherein the composition further comprises a PEG derivative.  
     
     
         30 . The method of  claim 29 , wherein the PEG derivative is bound to the colloidal metal particle.  
     
     
         31 . The method of  claim 28 , wherein the method further comprises administering an anti-cancer agent before, after, or concomitantly administering the composition.  
     
     
         32 . A method of detecting a solid tumor comprising administering to an organism having a solid tumor, a composition comprising a colloidal metal particle and radioactive agent.  
     
     
         33 . The method of  claim 32 , wherein the composition further comprises a PEG derivative.  
     
     
         34 . The method of  claim 33 , wherein the PEG derivative is bound to the colloidal metal particle.  
     
     
         35 . The method of  claim 32 , wherein the solid tumor is detected by fluorescent, chemiluminescent, heat sensitive, opaque, beads, magnetic or vibrational means.  
     
     
         36 . A method of imaging a solid tumor comprising administering to an organism having a solid tumor, a composition comprising a colloidal metal particle and radioactive agent.  
     
     
         37 . The method of  claim 36 , wherein the composition further comprises a PEG derivative.  
     
     
         38 . The method of  claim 37 , wherein the PEG derivative is bound to the colloidal metal particle.  
     
     
         39 . The method of  claim 36 , wherein the solid tumor is imaged by flourescent, chemiluminescent, heat sensitive, opaque, beads, magnetic or vibrational means.  
     
     
         40 . A composition comprising a colloidal metal particle and a PEG derivative; wherein the colloidal metal particle comprises a radiation sensitive agent.  
     
     
         41 . A method for targeted delivery to tumors comprising administering a position comprising a colloidal metal particle and a PEG-derivative to a tumor; and, 
 wherein the colloidal metal particle comprises a radiation sensitive agent.
