Combination award base and concealed storage container device

Abstract

A combination award base and concealed storage container device, wherein a riser device supports a selected decorative award, and wherein a substantially disguised internal compartment enables concealed storage of selected memorabilia within the riser device, thereby retaining all of the aesthetic pleasure of a traditional trophy while also enabling some utilitarian benefit therefrom.

1 . A combination award base and concealed storage container device, comprising: 
 a storage container having an open top; and    a lid, said lid configured to facilitate combination with said storage container, wherein said lid conceals said open top of said storage container, and wherein accessibility into said storage container is hidden.    
   
   
       2 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , further comprising a display article carried by said lid.  
   
   
       3 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , wherein said storage container and said lid define a cubic-shape.  
   
   
       4 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , wherein said storage container and said lid define a prismatic-shape.  
   
   
       5 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , wherein said storage container and said lid define an egg-shape.  
   
   
       6 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , wherein said storage container and said lid define a cylindrical shape.  
   
   
       7 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 2 , wherein said display article is selected from the group of figure, statue, cup, or trophy component.  
   
   
       8 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , wherein said lid is removable.  
   
   
       9 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , wherein said lid is hingedly related to said storage container.  
   
   
       10 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 10 , wherein said lid is magnetically related to said storage container.  
   
   
       11 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 10 , wherein said storage container defines an interior peripheral edge having a first plurality of magnets carried thereon, and wherein said lid carries a second plurality of associated magnets thereon, said first and said second plurality of magnets securing said lid proximate said storage container.  
   
   
       12 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , wherein said lid further comprises a mounting aperture for receiving a display member.  
   
   
       13 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , further comprising a plate member, said plate member carried by said storage container.  
   
   
       14 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , wherein said lid further comprises a desk accessory carried thereon.  
   
   
       15 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , further comprising a bookend member, said bookend member having a base adapted to associate with said storage container.  
   
   
       16 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 15 , wherein said bookend member further comprises an upright member extending from said base member.

The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , wherein said lid further comprises at least one tab member, wherein said storage container further comprises at least one notch, and wherein each said at least one tab member is configured to seat within each said correspondingly dimensioned notch.  
   
   
       18 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 1 , further comprising a hinge, said hinge connecting said lid and said storage container.  
   
   
       19 . The combination award base and concealed storage container device of  claim 18 , further comprising a spring-type latch mechanism.  
   
   
       20 . A method of displaying a trophy and storing memorabilia, comprising the steps of: 
 a) obtaining a base having a display member, a lid, and a concealed interior storage compartment, wherein said display member is carried by said lid;    b) accessing said interior storage compartment via said lid;    c) placing memorabilia into said interior storage compartment;    d) replacing said lid; and    e) displaying said trophy.
