Abstract

A catheter for injecting a thermally sensitive gelation material to remote sites within a patient's body by maintaining the thermally sensitive gelation material in a liquid state until it is delivered to a target area within the body.

1 . A method of treating a target area within the body of a patient, said method comprising the steps of: 
 providing an insulated catheter, said catheter adapted to deliver a reverse thermal solution within the body of the patient;    inserting the insulated catheter into the body of the patient; and    delivering the reverse thermal solution to the target area.    
   
   
       2 . The method of  claim 2  wherein the step of delivering the reverse thermal solution to the target area comprises delivering the reverse thermal solution to the heart of the patient.
