Abstract

The nucleotide and corresponding amino acid sequences are reported for a novel class of mammalian lipoxygenase proteins. The novel lipoxygenase encoding polynucleotides were obtained from human gene trap clones and human cDNA libraries.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 - 6 . (canceled)

7 . An isolated polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence encoded by a first polynucleotide capable of hybridizing to a second polynucleotide in 0.5 M NaHPO 4 , 7% sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), 1 mM EDTA at 65° C. with washing in 0.1×SSC/0.1% SDS at 68° C., wherein the second polynucleotide is complementary to the entire nucleic acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1, and wherein the first polynucleotide encodes a polypeptide with lipoxygenase activity.

8 . The isolated polypeptide of claim 7 , comprising the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2.
