Abstract

An apparatus for storing and displaying various objects such as books, plants, decorative items and the like. The apparatus comprises a plurality of horizontally disposed individual shelf members and a plurality of vertically disposed post members disposed at each corner of the plurality of horizontally disposed individual shelf members for engagement with the horizontally disposed individual shelf members. There is a brace member engageable with the plurality of vertically disposed post members for supporting the plurality of horizontally disposed individual shelf members and a securing means such as screws and bolts that are engageable with the plurality of vertically disposed post members and with the brace member for securing the brace member to the plurality of vertically disposed post members.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . An apparatus for storing and displaying various objects such as books, plants, decorative items and the like, said apparatus comprising:
 (a) a plurality of horizontally disposed individual shelf members; (b) a plurality of vertically disposed post members located substantially adjacent each corner of said plurality of horizontally disposed individual shelf members for engagement with said horizontally disposed individual shelf members; (c) a first means engageable with said plurality of vertically disposed post members for supporting said plurality of horizontally disposed individual shelf members; and (d) a second means engageable with said plurality of vertically disposed post members and with said first means for securing said first means to said plurality of vertically disposed post members.

2 . The apparatus, according to claim 1 , wherein said plurality of vertically disposed post members have a guide groove disposed vertically along a predetermined length of said post members on an inner surface for engagement with said first means.

3 . The apparatus, according to claim 2 , wherein said first means includes at least one of said plurality of horizontially disposed individual shelf members having a plurality of protuberances disposed on radially opposed sides for engagement with said guide grooves on said plurality of vertically disposed post members.

4 . The apparatus, according to claim 2 , wherein said first means includes a brace member that is engageable with a radially opposed pair of said plurality of vertically disposed post members.

5 . The apparatus, according to claim 4 , wherein said brace member is engageable with said guide groove.

6 . The apparatus, according to claim 5 , wherein said second means for securing said brace member to said radially opposed pair of said plurality of vertically disposed post members includes at least one of screws, bolts and pegs.

7 . The apparatus, according to claim 6 , wherein said second means for securing said brace member to said radially opposed pair of said plurality of vertically disposed post members is said screws.

8 . The apparatus, according to claim 5 , wherein each of said plurality of vertically disposed post members have a plurality of apertures disposed at predetermined locations.

9 . The apparatus, according to claim 8 , wherein said plurality of said predetermined locations of said apertures are identical on each of said plurality of vertically disposed post members.

10 . The apparatus, according to claim 8 , wherein said plurality of apertures are provided for ease of adjusting said brace member to various locations on said plurality of vertically disposed post members.

11 . The apparatus, according to claim 1 , wherein said plurality of horizontally disposed individual shelf members are attached to said first means by one of adhesive, screw and bolt.

12 . The apparatus, according to claim 11 , wherein said plurality of horizontally disposed individual shelf members are attached to said first means by said screw.

13 . The apparatus, according to claim 7 , wherein said screws are countersunk.

14 . The apparatus, according to claim 13 , wherein said screws are covered with one of caps and wood filler.

15 . The apparatus, according to claim 3 , wherein said second means for securing said shelf member to said radially opposed pair of said plurality of vertically disposed post members includes at least one of screws, bolts and pegs.

16 . The apparatus, according to claim 15 , wherein said second means for securing said shelf member to said radially opposed pair of said plurality of vertically disposed post members is said screws.

17 . The apparatus, according to claim 2 , wherein said first means includes projections disposed closely adjacent corners on said shelf member for engagement with said guide groove.

18 . The apparatus, according to claim 17 , wherein said second means is engageable with said plurality of vertically disposed post members and with said projections on said shelf members for securing said shelf member to said plurality of vertically disposed post members.
