Abstract
A spreading and/or despreading mechanism in which the inphase component and a quadrature component of a signal are to be transmitted by using a short code and a long code. The long code has an inphase component and a quadrature component that are different from each other. The spreading and despreading operations carry out a complex-to-complex operation between a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the signal and a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the long code.
Claims
exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A transmission apparatus comprising:
spreading means for spreading an inphase component and a quadrature component of a signal to be transmitted by using a short code and a long code, the long code having an inphase component and a quadrature component that are different from each other, wherein the spreading means is further for carrying out a complex-to-complex operation between a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the signal and a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the long code; and transmission means for transmitting the signal whose inphase component and quadrature component have been spread.
2 . The transmission apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the spreading means spreads the inphase component and the quadrature component of the signal by using a same short code for the inphase component and the quadrature component of the signal.
3 . The transmission apparatus as claimed in claim 2 , wherein the complex-to-complex operation is a complex-to-complex multiplication.
4 . The transmission apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , wherein the complex-to-complex operation is a complex-to-complex multiplication.
5 . A reception apparatus comprising:
reception means for receiving a spread signal; and despreading means for despreading an inphase component and a quadrature component of the received signal by using a short code and a long code, the long code having an inphase component and a quadrature component that are different from each other, wherein the despreading means is further for carrying out a complex-to-complex operation between a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the received signal and a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the long code.
6 . The reception apparatus as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the complex-to-complex operation is a complex-to-complex multiplication.
7 . The reception apparatus as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the quadrature component of the long code is obtained by shifting a phase of the inphase component of the long code.
8 . The reception apparatus as claimed in claim 7 , wherein the complex-to-complex operation is a complex-to-complex multiplication.
9 . The reception apparatus as claimed in claim 5 , wherein the despreading means despreads the inphase component and the quadrature component of the received signal by using a same short code for the inphase component and the quadrature component of the received signal.
10 . The reception apparatus as claimed in claim 9 , wherein the complex-to-complex operation is a complex-to-complex multiplication.
11 . A transmission method comprising:
spreading an inphase component and a quadrature component of a signal to be transmitted by using a short code and a long code at least by carrying out a complex-to-complex operation between a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the signal and a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the long code, the long code having an inphase component and a quadrature component that are different from each other; and transmitting the signal whose inphase component and quadrature component have been spread.
12 . The transmission method as claimed in claim 11 , wherein the complex-to-complex operation is a complex-to-complex multiplication.
13 . A reception method comprising:
receiving a spread signal; and despreading an inphase component and a quadrature component of the received signal by using a short code and a long code at least by carrying out a complex-to-complex operation between a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the received signal and a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the long code, the long code having an inphase component and a quadrature component that are different from each other.
14 . The reception method as claimed in claim 13 , wherein the complex-to-complex operation is a complex-to-complex multiplication.
15 . A communication system comprising a transmission apparatus and a reception apparatus, wherein
the transmission apparatus comprises:
spreading means for spreading an inphase component and a quadrature component of a signal to be transmitted by using a short code and a long code of the spreading means, the long code of the spreading means having an inphase component and a quadrature component that are different from each other, wherein the spreading means is further for carrying out a complex-to-complex operation between a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the signal to be transmitted and a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the long code; and
transmission means for transmitting the signal whose inphase component and quadrature component have been spread, and
the reception apparatus comprises:
reception means for receiving the spread signal; and
despreading means for despreading an inphase component and a quadrature component of the received signal by using a short code and a long code of the despreading means, the long code of the despreading means having an inphase component and a quadrature component that are different from each other, wherein the despreading means is further for carrying out a complex-to-complex operation between a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the received signal and a combination of the inphase component and the quadrature component of the long code.
16 . The communication system as claimed in claim 15 , wherein the complex-to-complex operation is a complex-to-complex multiplication.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
