Abstract
A method and a device is provided to reduce a student's throwing of school classroom materials. A spring driven retractable reel is attached to a base which can be secured to a teacher chosen classroom location using velcro or other mechanical attachments. The end of the retractable reel cord is connected to materials such that thrown materials are slowed as they leave the student's hand in order to reduce throwing and train improved student behavior.

exact text as granted — not AI-modified1 . A method for reducing a student's throwing of school materials comprising steps of:
providing a retractable reel, said retractable reel comprising a housing, a circular reel centrally mounted within said housing, a coil spring located within a central opening in said circular reel and connected at its outer end to said circular reel, a cord wound about said circular reel and connected to said circular reel at the proximal end of said cord, an opening in said housing through which the distal end of said cord extends outside of said housing; providing a means of attachment of said retractable reel to a stationary surface; providing a means of attachment of the distal end of said cord to school materials; attaching said school materials to said distal end of said cord; and providing a student with the opportunity to handle and attempt the throwing of said school materials which are attached to said cord of said retractable reel.
2 . A device for reducing a student's throwing of school materials comprising:
a retractable reel, said retractable reel comprising a housing, a circular reel mounted within said housing, a coil spring located within a center opening of said circular reel and connected at its outer end to said circular reel, a cord wound about said circular reel and connected to said circular reel at said cord's proximal end, and an opening in said housing through which the distal end of said cord extends outside of said housing; a means of attachment of said retractable reel to a school work surface; and a means of attachment of a said school materials to said cord of said retractable reel.Join the waitlist — get patent alerts
