Table having at least two cantilever extensions hinged on to a fixed table top

Abstract

A table comprises a fixed table top ( 10 ) and at least an extension ( 20 ) supported in a cantilever arrangement by a hinge ( 100 ) having its axis (Z) orthogonal to the section planes ( 16, 26 ), which come to abut against each other when the extension is extracted. The hinge ( 100 ) is provided with a wing of acting a stud ( 34 ) associated to the extension ( 20 ), the axis (X) of which is horizontal and parallel to said section planes ( 16, 26 ).

Table comprising a fixed table top ( 10 ) having an upper face ( 12 ) and a lower face ( 14 ) defining between each other a section plane and resting on a stationary support structure, and at least an extension ( 20 ) having in turn an upper face ( 22 ) and a lower face ( 24 ), also defining between each other a section plane, in which the said section planes ( 16 ,  26 ) are facing each other, inclined and parallel when said extension ( 20 ) is in its extracted condition and in which to the lower face ( 18 ) of the fixed table top ( 10 ) there is attached a hinge ( 100 ) having an axis (Z) orthogonal to said section planes ( 16 ,  26 ) and provided with a wing ( 116 ) for supporting said extension ( 20 ) in a cantilevered manner, characterized in that a stud ( 34 ) associated to the extension ( 20 ) is adapted to act on said wing ( 116 ), the axis (X) of said stud being horizontal and parallel to said section planes ( 16 ,  26 ).  
   
   
       2 . Table according to  claim 1 , characterized in that said stud ( 34 ) is attached to the lower face ( 24 ) of the extension ( 20 ) and is supported by the free end portion ( 117 ) of the wing ( 116 ) provided in said hinge ( 100 ).  
   
   
       3 . Table according to  claim 2 , characterized in that to the lower face ( 24 ) of the extension ( 20 ) there is also attached a first retaining member ( 35 ) in a position that is closer than said stud ( 34 ) to said section plane ( 26 ) of the extension.

Table according to  claim 3 , characterized in that said first retaining member ( 35 ) comprises a stem ( 36 ) extending orthogonal to the faces ( 22 ,  24 ) of the extension ( 20 ), a head ( 37 ) provided with a base ( 38 ) extending parallel to the faces ( 22 ,  24 ) of the extension ( 20 ), and an undercut portion ( 39 ) at a certain distance from said base ( 38 ).  
   
   
       5 . Table according to  claim 4 , characterized in that it comprises a second retaining member ( 130 ) that includes a mushroom-shaped head ( 132 ), a stem ( 134 ), a retaining spring ( 138 ) and a small terminal block ( 135 ).

Table according to  claim 5 , characterized in that in said wing ( 116 ) there are provided a pair of slots ( 120 ,  122 ), in which the first slot ( 120 ) is adapted to enable said first retaining member ( 35 ) to pass therethrough and the second slot ( 122 ) is adapted to enable said second retaining member ( 130 ) to pass therethrough.  
   
   
       7 . Table according to  claim 5 , characterized in that the heads ( 37 ,  132 ) of said first and second retaining members ( 35 ,  130 ) are adapted to interact so as to make the extension ( 20 ) stable in its extracted configuration.

Table according to  claim 5 , characterized in that to the lower face ( 119 ) of said wing ( 116 ), below said second retaining member ( 135 ), there is attached a third retaining member ( 140 ) comprised of a piston sliding parallelly to said same wing ( 116 ) and having a head ( 142 ) adapted to interact with said undercut portion ( 39 ) of the first retaining member ( 35 ) when the extension ( 20 ) is in the extracted configuration thereof and said section planes ( 16 ,  26 ) are abutting against each other.  
   
   
       9 . Table according to  claim 6 , characterized in that the heads ( 37 ,  132 ) of said first and second retaining members ( 35 ,  130 ) are adapted to interact so as to make the extension ( 20 ) stable in its extracted configuration.

Table according to  claim 6 , characterized in that to the lower face ( 119 ) of said wing ( 116 ), below said second retaining member ( 135 ), there is attached a third retaining member ( 140 ) comprised of a piston sliding parallelly to said same wing ( 116 ) and having a head ( 142 ) adapted to interact with said undercut portion ( 39 ) of the first retaining member ( 35 ) when the extension ( 20 ) is in the extracted configuration thereof and said section planes ( 16 ,  26 ) are abutting against each other.

Table according to  claim 7 , characterized in that to the lower face ( 119 ) of said wing ( 116 ), below said second retaining member ( 135 ), there is attached a third retaining member ( 140 ) comprised of a piston sliding parallelly to said same wing ( 116 ) and having a head ( 142 ) adapted to interact with said undercut portion ( 39 ) of the first retaining member ( 35 ) when the extension ( 20 ) is in the extracted configuration thereof and said section planes ( 16 ,  26 ) are abutting against each other.

Table according to  claim 9 , characterized in that to the lower face ( 119 ) of said wing ( 116 ), below said second retaining member ( 135 ), there is attached a third retaining member ( 140 ) comprised of a piston sliding parallelly to said same wing ( 116 ) and having a head ( 142 ) adapted to interact with said undercut portion ( 39 ) of the first retaining member ( 35 ) when the extension ( 20 ) is in the extracted configuration thereof and said section planes ( 16 ,  26 ) are abutting against each other.
