Abstract

Various aspects of the invention provide attachment members, hook/hanger components, mounting systems, and related methods. In one exemplary embodiment, a bracket clip generally includes a channel with spaced-apart side walls having tabs for engaging apertures of an apertured support surface. The bracket clip also includes an upper portion having a first recessed portion, and a lower portion having a second recessed portion. The recessed portions are configured for trapping portions of a wire-like component substantially against the apertured support surface when the tabs are engaged within apertures of the apertured support surface, to thereby retain the wire-like component to the apertured support surface. In another exemplary embodiment, a hanger component generally includes at least one bar portion tapering to a reduced width portion. The reduced width portion has a substantially flat back surface flush with a tangent surface of the bar portion, thereby allowing the reduced width portion to lie substantially flush against a flat support surface.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . A bracket clip for mounting a wire-like component to an apertured support surface, the bracket clip comprising a channel with spaced-apart side walls having tabs for engaging apertures of the apertured support surface, an upper portion having a first recessed portion, and a lower portion having a second recessed portion, the first and second recessed portions configured for trapping portions of the wire-like component substantially against the apertured support surface when the tabs are engaged within the apertures of the apertured support surface, whereby the trapping retains the wire-like component to the apertured support surface.

2 . The bracket clip of claim 1 , wherein each said tab defines a notch between the tab and the corresponding side wall, the notch being sized to engagingly receive a portion of the apertured support surface when the tab is inserted within an aperture of the apertured support surface.

3 . The bracket clip of claim 1 , wherein the bracket clip includes two spaced-apart sidewalls each having two spaced-apart tabs.

4 . A system including the bracket clip of claim 1 and at least one hanger component having first and second spaced-apart crossbar portions configured to be trapped against the apertured support surface by the respective first and second recessed portions of the bracket clip when the hanger component is mounted to the apertured support surface by the bracket clip with the bracket clip's tabs engaged within apertures of the apertured support surface.

5 . The system of claim 4 , further comprising a wall standard including the apertured support surface.

6 . The system of claim 4 , further comprising a track standard including the apertured support surface.

7 . The system of claim 4 , further comprising a track standard and a track mount slidably mountable to the track standard, the track mount including the apertured support surface, and wherein the bracket clip is engagable to the track mount with the first and second recessed portions trapping the spaced-apart bar portions between the track mount and the attachment member such that the track mount, attachment member, and hanger component are collectively slidably movable along the track standard.

8 . The system of claim 7 , wherein the track mount includes upper and lower edge portions configured to be slidably engaged within respective upper and lower slots of the track standard.

9 . A hanger component comprising at least one bar portion tapering to a reduced width portion, the reduced width portion having a substantially flat back surface flush with a tangent surface of the bar portion, thereby allowing the reduced width portion to lie substantially flush against a flat support surface.

10 . The hanger component of claim 9 , wherein the reduced width portion includes at least one opening therethrough for receiving at least one fastener for allowing the hanger component to be secured to a support surface with the fastener.

11 . The hanger component of claim 9 , wherein the at least one bar portion comprises a first crossbar portion and a second crossbar portion spaced-apart and generally parallel to the first crossbar portion, each said first and second crossbar portions tapering to a reduced width portion.

12 . The hanger component of claim 11 , wherein the first crossbar portion includes end portions that extend generally downwardly and outwardly to form at least one hook for supporting one or more items thereon, and wherein the second crossbar portion extends generally between the downwardly-extending end portions of the first crossbar portion.

13 . The hanger component of claim 11 , wherein the at least one bar portion extending outwardly to form at least one hook for supporting one or more items thereon.

14 . The hanger component of claim 11 , wherein the hanger component includes a plurality of bars operatively engaged to the at least one bar portion and forming a plurality of hooks for supporting one or more items thereon.

15 . A system including the hanger component of claim 11 , a track standard having upper and lower slots, and first and second fasteners engaged within a corresponding one of said upper and lower slots, wherein each said reduced width portion of the first and second crossbar portions includes at least one opening therethrough for receiving a corresponding one of said first and second fasteners, whereby engagement of the fasteners within the openings and slots mounts the hanger component to the track standard such that the hanger component and fasteners are collectively slidably movable along the track standard.
