Abstract

The invention relates to ballistic protective armour ( 12 ), in particular, as component of ballistic protective clothing, or head coverings, comprising a textile laminate ( 14 ) made from a number of textile layers ( 16, 34 ), laminated together. Said protective armour is characterised by a number of wire or thread binders ( 40,52 ), which pass through the textile laminate ( 14 ) in the layering direction (Z) of the textile layers ( 16, 34 ).

Ballistic protective armour as a component of ballistic protective clothing or head coverings, comprising a textile laminate made from a number of textile layers laminated together, and a number of binders which pass through the textile laminate in a layering direction of the textile layers, the binders made of one of wire and thread.  
   
   
       2 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 1 , wherein the binders are provided with anchoring devices to anchor them in the textile laminate.  
   
   
       3 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 1 , wherein the binders are elastic.  
   
   
       4 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 1 , wherein the binders are made from one of: 
 metal, and    a synthetic material.    
   
   
       5 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 1 , wherein the binders are contrived as reinforcing threads which are each formed from at least one fiber.  
   
   
       6 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 5 , wherein the reinforcing threads are made from a yarn that is one of spun or and drilled from a number of fibers.  
   
   
       7 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 5 , wherein the reinforcing threads are made from a material selected from the group consisting of aramid, polyethylene and carbon fiber.  
   
   
       8 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 5 , wherein the reinforcing threads are connected with each other to form endless threads which pass through the textile laminate in a meandering fashion.  
   
   
       9 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 8 , wherein, running on opposite surfaces of the textile laminates, there are endless threads, of which each endless thread comprises a number of loops projecting into the textile laminate, which are interlooped with the loops of an endless thread running along an opposite surface of the textile laminate.  
   
   
       10 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 1 , wherein the textile layers are connected by pressing with a connection matrix which is disposed layer by layer between the individual textile layers.  
   
   
       11 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 10 , wherein the connection matrix is formed from a material selected from the group consisting of an adhesive, a resin and a pressable film.  
   
   
       12 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 10 , wherein the textile layers are at least partially embedded in the connection matrix.  
   
   
       13 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 1 , wherein the textile layers are made from a synthetic material.  
   
   
       14 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 13 , wherein the textile layers are made from a material selected from the group consisting of aramid, polyethylene and carbon fiber.  
   
   
       15 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 1 , wherein the textile layers are made from fabric made of one of fibers and yarns.  
   
   
       16 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 1 , wherein the textile layers are of differing hardnesses.  
   
   
       17 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 16 , wherein the differing hardnesses are obtained by one of: 
 using different types of fabrics, and    varying the amount of resin or adhesive on the textile layers.    
   
   
       18 . The ballistic protective armour of  claim 16 , wherein the textile laminate, viewed from outside to inside in relation to an anticipated direction of a missile, comprises a sequence of layers of hard outer textile layers, soft textile layers of lesser hardness than the hard textile layers, and medium-hard inner textile layers whose hardness lies between that of the hard textile layers and that of the soft textile layers.  
   
   
       19 . A ballistic protective helmet according to  claim 1 , comprising a helmet shell formed by the ballistic protective armour according to  claim 1 .  
   
   
       20 . A ballistic protective vest according to  claim 1 , comprising one of hard segments and hard inserts, each formed by the ballistic protective armour according to  claim 1 .  
   
   
       21 . The ballistic protective vest of  claim 20 , wherein the one of hard segments and hard inserts are disposed in overlapping fashion.  
   
   
       22 . The ballistic protective vest of  claim 21 , wherein the one of hard segments and hard inserts are disposed one of on and in the protective vest such that they can he displaced relative to each other.
