Abstract

An abrading group comprises a plurality of abrading units rotationally mounted on a crossbar extending along a transverse direction that is transverse with respect to an intended advance direction of pieces to be abraded, a driving arrangement for rotating each abrading unit around a longitudinal axis thereof, a further driving arrangement for oscillating said crossbar along said transverse direction, said further driving arrangement is such as to oscillate said crossbar also along said advance direction.

Claims

exact text as granted — not AI-modified
1 . Abrading group comprising a plurality of abrading units rotationally mounted on a crossbar extending along a transverse direction, said transverse direction being transverse with respect to an intended advance direction of pieces to be abraded, a driving arrangement for rotating each abrading unit around a longitudinal axis thereof, a further driving arrangement for oscillating said crossbar along said transverse direction, wherein said further driving arrangement is such as to oscillate said crossbar also along said advance direction.

2 . Abrading group according to claim 1 , wherein said further driving arrangement comprises an eccentric driving member.

3 . Abrading group according to claim 2 , wherein said eccentric member is obtained in a portion of the longitudinal extent of a shaft.

4 . Abrading group according to claim 3 , wherein said portion is coupled with said crossbar.

5 . Abrading group according to claim 3 , wherein said shaft comprises an end portion that is rotated by an electric motor.

6 . Abrading group according to claim 4 , wherein said shaft comprises an end portion that is rotated by an electric motor.

7 . Abrading group according to claim 1 , wherein each abrading unit comprises an abrading disc operationally facing said pieces to be abraded.

8 . Method comprising driving a plurality of abrading units arranged for abrading a surface of a piece to be abraded with a motion having a component along a transverse direction, said transverse direction being transverse with respect to an intended advance direction of said piece to be abraded, wherein it further comprises driving said plurality of abrading units with a further motion having a component along said advance direction.

9 . Method according to claim 8 , wherein said driving occurs by moving a crossbar on which said plurality of abrading units is mounted.

10 . Method according to claim 8 , and further comprising rotating each abrading unit around a longitudinal axis thereof.

11 . Method according to claim 9 , and further comprising rotating each abrading unit around a longitudinal axis thereof.
