Methods and systems for determining and selling wagering game outcomes to be viewed remotely

Abstract

In accordance with some embodiments, a plurality of outcomes are generated and used to create a video presentation of representative outcomes. The video presentation is recorded onto a tangible medium (e.g., DVD or CD-ROM) or otherwise provided to a player (e.g., a player may access the video presentation online). This allows a player to purchase a video presentation of (e.g., predetermined) outcomes in a jurisdiction in which gambling is legal yet view the presentation at the player's convenience (e.g., from any jurisdiction and at any time). A player who purchases such a video presentation may subsequently redeem it for a redemption value associated therewith. In some embodiments, a payout of the session may be determined based on a payout parameter indicated by a game card provided to the player.

1 . A method, comprising: 
 determining a session comprising a plurality of stored outcomes of a slot machine game;    determining a game card associated with the session, wherein the game card indicates a payout parameter; and    determining, based on the plurality of outcomes of the session and the payout parameter indicated by the game card, a payout of the session.    
   
   
       2 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the determining of the session comprises: 
 receiving, from a player, an indication of the session.    
   
   
       3 . The method of  claim 2 , wherein the indication of the session comprises a selection, by the player, of the session from a display comprising a plurality of available sessions.  
   
   
       4 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 providing the session to the player.    
   
   
       5 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the determining of the game card comprises: 
 determining the payout parameter; and    generating the game card comprising the indication of the payout parameter.    
   
   
       6 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the generation of the game card comprises printing the game card.  
   
   
       7 . The method of  claim 5 , wherein the determination of the payout parameter is based at least in part on the session.  
   
   
       8 . The method of  claim 5 , further comprising: 
 providing the game card to the player.    
   
   
       9 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the determining of the payout comprises: 
 comparing information associated with the session to the payout parameter.    
   
   
       10 . The method of  claim 9 , wherein the comparing comprises: 
 reading the information associated with the session from a tangible medium associated with the session;    reading the payout parameter from the game card; and    comparing the readings.    
   
   
       11 . The method of  claim 10 , wherein the readings are machine readings.  
   
   
       12 . The method of  claim 11 , wherein the reading of the information associated with the session comprises scanning a first barcode associated with the tangible medium and wherein the reading of the payout parameter comprises scanning a second barcode associated with the game card.  
   
   
       13 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 providing the payout to a player.    
   
   
       14 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 receiving, from a player, payment for a purchase of at least one of (i) the game card, and (ii) the session.    
   
   
       15 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 receiving, from a player, a request for the payout.    
   
   
       16 . The method of  claim 15 , further comprising: 
 verifying a legitimate purchase, by the player, of at least one of (i) the session, and (ii) the game card; and    authorizing the payout to be provided to the player.    
   
   
       17 . The method of  claim 15 , further comprising: 
 authorizing an amount to be provided to the player, wherein the amount comprises a difference between the payout and a fee associated with the player having been provided at least one of (i) the session, and (ii) the game card.    
   
   
       18 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the determining of the session comprises at least one of: 
 selecting the session from a plurality of available sessions; and    randomly selecting the session from a plurality of available sessions.    
   
   
       19 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the determining of the game card comprises at least one of: 
 selecting the game card from a plurality of available game cards; and    randomly selecting the game card from a plurality of available game cards.    
   
   
       20 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the determining of the game card comprises: 
 receiving, from a player, an indication of the game card.    
   
   
       21 . The method of  claim 20 , wherein the game card is selected by the player from a display comprising a plurality of available game cards.  
   
   
       22 . The method of  claim 1 , further comprising: 
 selecting the session from a plurality of available sessions;    selecting the game card from a plurality of available game cards;    packaging the game card with a tangible medium comprising the session; and    providing the package to a player.    
   
   
       23 . The method of  claim 22 , wherein the determinations of the session and the game card comprise: 
 receiving, from the player, an indication of the package comprising the game card and the tangible medium comprising the session.    
   
   
       24 . The method of  claim 23 , wherein the indications of the session and the game card comprise a selection, by the player, of the package comprising the game card and the tangible medium comprising the session, from a display comprising a plurality of available packages.  
   
   
       25 . The method of  claim 22 , wherein the selections of the session and the game card are conducted to define a specific value for the payout.  
   
   
       26 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of outcomes of the session are stored on a tangible medium.  
   
   
       27 . The method of  claim 26 , wherein the tangible medium comprises at least one of: 
 a DVD;    a CD-ROM;    a floppy disk;    a VHS tape;    a flash memory; and    a portable viewing device.    
   
   
       28 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the game card comprises at least one of: 
 a card medium;    a ticket medium; and    a token medium.    
   
   
       29 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the payout parameter indicated by the game card comprises a pre-defined payout parameter.  
   
   
       30 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the payout parameter indicated by the game card comprises a player-defined payout parameter.  
   
   
       31 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the game card indicates the payout parameter by at least one of: 
 a printing of the indication of the payout parameter on the game card;    a stamping of the indication of the payout parameter on the game card;    an engraving of the indication of the payout parameter on the game card;    an etching of the indication of the payout parameter on the game card; and    a coupling of a medium comprising the indication of the payout parameter to the game card.    
   
   
       32 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the payout parameter is indicative of at least one of: 
 an amount paid to purchase the session;    an amount wagered for each outcome of the plurality of outcomes of the session;    a multiplier associated with an amount wagered for each outcome of the plurality of outcomes of the session;    a number of paylines activated for at least one of the plurality of outcomes of the session;    one or more paytables associated with the session; and    one or more pay conditions associated with one or more of the plurality of outcomes of the session.    
   
   
       33 . The method of  claim 1 , wherein the plurality of outcomes of the session are generated by a gaming device.  
   
   
       34 . The method of  claim 33 , wherein the gaming device comprises a simplified gaming device.  
   
   
       35 . A method, comprising: 
 providing, to a player, a session comprising a plurality of stored outcomes of a slot machine game;    providing, to the player, a game card comprising an indication of a payout parameter;    defining, based on the plurality of stored outcomes of the session and the indication of the payout parameter, a payout of the session; and    providing the payout to the player.    
   
   
       36 . The method of  claim 35 , wherein the providing of the session comprises: 
 providing, to the player, a tangible medium comprising the session.    
   
   
       37 . The method of  claim 35 , wherein the providing of the game card comprises: 
 providing, to the player, a pre-printed medium comprising the game card.    
   
   
       38 . A game card, comprising: 
 a machine-readable indication of a payout parameter, the payout parameter being required to determine a payout of a plurality of stored outcomes of a slot machine game.    
   
   
       39 . The game card of  claim 38 , wherein the payout parameter comprises an indication of a paytable.  
   
   
       40 . The game card of  claim 38 , wherein the payout parameter comprises an indication of a game card purchase amount.  
   
   
       41 . A package, comprising: 
 a tangible medium storing a session comprising a plurality of outcomes of a slot machine game; and    a game card comprising a machine-readable indication of a payout parameter, the payout parameter being required to determine a payout of the session.    
   
   
       42 . The package of  claim 41 , wherein the tangible medium comprises a machine-readable indication of the plurality of outcomes of the session.  
   
   
       43 . The package of  claim 41 , wherein at least one of (i) the tangible medium, and (ii) the game card, may be exchanged for the payout.  
   
   
       44 . A method, comprising: 
 determining a session comprising a plurality of stored outcomes of a slot machine game;    determining a payout of the session, wherein the payout comprises a first value in the case that a first game card indicating a first payout parameter is associated with the session, and wherein the payout comprises a second value in the case that a second game card indicating a second payout parameter is associated with the session.    
   
   
       45 . The method of  claim 44 , further comprising: 
 determining whether the first or second game card is associated with the session.    
   
   
       46 . The method of  claim 44 , further comprising: 
 providing the payout to a player.    
   
   
       47 . The method of  claim 46 , wherein the payout is provided to the player in exchange for the game card associated with the session.
